Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A pocket device including a first major panel and a second major panel coupled together along a major fold line. The pocket device further includes a first pocket panel coupled to the first major panel along a first pocket fold line and forming a first pocket with the first major panel, and a second pocket panel coupled to the second major panel along a second pocket fold line and forming a second pocket with the second major panel. The first and second pocket panels are coupled along a minor fold line. A reinforcing material is positioned on at least part of at least one of the major fold line, the first pocket fold line, the second pocket fold line or the minor fold line.

What is claimed is: 1 . A pocket device comprising: a first major panel and a second major panel coupled together along a major fold line; a first pocket panel coupled to the first major panel along a first pocket fold line and forming a first pocket with the first major panel; a second pocket panel coupled to the second major panel along a second pocket fold line and forming a second pocket with the second major panel, wherein the first and second pocket panels are coupled along a minor fold line; and a reinforcing material positioned on at least part of at least one of the major fold line, the first pocket fold line, the second pocket fold line or the minor fold line. 2 . The pocket device of claim 1 wherein the reinforcing material extends an entire length of the at least one of the major fold line, the first pocket fold line, the second pocket fold line or the minor fold line. 3 . The pocket device of claim 1 wherein the reinforcing material extends a majority of an entire length of the at least one of the major fold line, the first pocket fold line, the second pocket fold line or the minor fold line. 4 . The pocket device of claim 1 wherein the reinforcing material is positioned on at least part of the first major panel, the second major panel, the first pocket panel, and the second pocket panel. 5 . The pocket device of claim 1 wherein the reinforcing material is positioned on at least part of the major fold line, the first pocket fold line, the second pocket fold line and the minor fold line. 6 . The pocket device of claim 1 wherein the reinforcing material is oriented parallel to and covers a majority of the first pocket fold line and the second pocket fold line. 7 . The pocket device of claim 6 wherein the reinforcing material is a single continuous piece of material and is made of a different material than a material of the first major panel, second major panel, first pocket panel and second pocket panel. 8 . The pocket device of claim 6 wherein the reinforcing material is not oriented parallel to the major fold line and minor fold line, and covers less than a majority of the major fold line and minor fold line. 9 . The pocket device of claim 1 wherein the reinforcing material is oriented parallel to and covers a majority of the major fold line and the minor fold line. 10 . The pocket device of claim 1 wherein the major fold line and the minor fold line are collinear, wherein the first pocket fold line and the second pocket fold line are collinear, wherein the major fold line and minor fold line are oriented perpendicular to the first pocket fold line and second pocket fold line, wherein each major panel and pocket panel has a height dimension extending parallel to the major fold line, wherein each pocket panel has a height less than a height of the associated major panel, and wherein the reinforcing material is a polymer tape. 11 . The pocket device of claim 1 wherein the reinforcing material has a longest dimension extending in a length direction thereof, and wherein the length direction is parallel with the at least one of the major fold line, the first pocket fold line, the second pocket fold line or the minor fold line, and wherein the reinforcing material is not positioned on the pocket device at areas spaced away from the one of the major fold line, the first pocket fold line, the second pocket fold line or the minor fold line. 12 . The pocket device of claim 1 wherein the pocket device is folded about the at least one of the major fold line, the first pocket fold line, the second pocket fold line or the minor fold line. 13 . The pocket device of claim 1 wherein the pocket device is folded about the major fold line, the first pocket fold line, the second pocket fold line and the minor fold line, 14 . The pocket device of claim 13 further comprising a binding device extending through the first and second major panels and retaining the first said second major panels in an overlapped position wherein the first and second major panels are generally parallel and aligned, and overlap in a thickness direction of the pocket device. 15 . The pocket device of claim 14 wherein the pocket device is bound to the binding device along an edge of the pocket device positioned opposite the major fold line. 16 . The pocket device of claim 1 wherein at least part of the reinforcing material is located on at least part of each panel positioned on opposite sides of the at least one of the major fold line, the first pocket fold line, the second pocket fold line or the minor fold line. 17 . The pocket device of claim 1 wherein the reinforcing material is positioned internally to the first and second pockets. 18 . A pocket device comprising: a first major panel and a second major panel coupled together along a major fold line; a first pocket panel coupled to the first major panel along a first pocket fold line and forming a first pocket with the first major panel; a second pocket panel coupled to the second major panel along a second pocket fold line and forming a second pocket with the second major panel, wherein the first and second pocket panels are coupled along a minor fold line; and a reinforcing material positioned on a majority a length of the major fold line and the minor fold line, or positioned on a majority of a length of the first pocket fold line and the second pocket fold line. 19 . A pocket device comprising: a first major panel and a second major panel coupled together along a major fold line; a first pocket panel coupled to the first major panel along a first pocket fold line and forming a first pocket with the first major panel; a second pocket panel coupled to the second major panel along a second pocket fold line and forming a second pocket with the second major panel, wherein the first and second pocket panels are coupled along a minor fold line; a flap coupled to one of the first or second major panels along a flap fold line; and a reinforcing material positioned on at least part of the flap fold line. 20 . The pocket device of claim 19 wherein the flap extends an entire dimension of the one of the first or second major panels in a direction parallel to the flap fold line, wherein the flap has a lesser dimension than the one of the first or second major panels in a direction perpendicular to the flap fold line, wherein the reinforcing material is a single continuous piece of material and is made of a different material than a material of the first major panel, second major panel, first pocket panel or second pocket panel, and wherein the reinforcing material extends a majority of a length of the flap fold line.
