Provided is a binder composition for a non-aqueous secondary battery that enables formation of a functional layer and an electrode mixed material layer having high transition metal capturing ability. The binder composition for a non-aqueous secondary battery contains a water-soluble polymer and water. The water-soluble polymer includes a sulfonate group-containing monomer unit in a proportion of at least 10 mass % and not more than 50 mass % and a (meth)acrylonitrile monomer unit in a proportion of 20 mass % or more.

1 . A binder composition for a non-aqueous secondary battery comprising a water-soluble polymer and water, wherein the water-soluble polymer includes a sulfonate group-containing monomer unit in a proportion of at least 10 mass % and not more than 50 mass % and a (meth)acrylonitrile monomer unit in a proportion of 20 mass % or more. 2 . The binder composition for a non-aqueous secondary battery according to claim 1 , wherein the water-soluble polymer has a degree of swelling in non-aqueous electrolysis solution of at least a factor of 2 and not more than a factor of 5. 3 . The binder composition for a non-aqueous secondary battery according to claim 1 , further comprising a particulate polymer. 4 . A composition for a non-aqueous secondary battery functional layer comprising: the binder composition for a non-aqueous secondary battery according to claim 1 ; and non-conductive particles. 5 . The composition for a non-aqueous secondary battery functional layer according to claim 4 , wherein the water-soluble polymer is contained in a proportion of at least 1 part by mass and not more than 10 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the non-conductive particles. 6 . A functional layer for a non-aqueous secondary battery formed using the composition for a non-aqueous secondary battery functional layer according to claim 5 . 7 . A non-aqueous secondary battery comprising the functional layer for a non-aqueous secondary battery according to claim 6 .
