Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Embodiments of an apparatus and system are described for a hybrid computing device. Some embodiments may comprise a computing device having an enclosure arranged to support a display on a front of the enclosure, a projector adjustment ring integrated into a portion of the perimeter of the enclosure, and a projector module adjustably coupled to the projector adjustment ring. In various embodiments, the projector module may be arranged for dual-axis rotation within the projector adjustment ring. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

1 - 67 . (canceled) 68 . A computing device, comprising: an enclosure arranged to support a display on a front of the enclosure; a projector integrated into a portion the enclosure, the projector arranged to project an image at an adjustable location; a detector; and a projector management module, the projector management module to: send a first control signal to cause the projector to project the image; and receive a second control signal from the detector comprising an indication of an interaction with the projected image. 69 . The computing device of claim 68 , the projector management module to: send the first control signal to cause the projector to project the image corresponding to a virtual input device; and detect, based on the second control signal, an interaction with the projected image corresponding to the virtual input device. 70 . The computing device of claim 69 , the virtual input device a keyboard comprising a plurality of keys. 71 . The computing device of claim 70 , the detector a camera to capture movement proximate to the projected image correspond to the virtual input device. 72 . The computing device of claim 69 , the display to display a first image and the projector management module to determine the virtual input device based on the first image. 73 . The computing device of claim 68 , the projector comprising a projector module disposed within the projector, the projector module to rotate about at least one axis. 74 . The computing device of claim 73 , the projector comprising a projector adjustment ring coupled to the projector module, the projector adjustment ring to provide, responsive to user interaction, adjustment of the projector module along the at least one axis. 75 . The computing device of claim 69 , the projector to project the virtual input device to a position off-center from the display. 76 . The computing device of claim 68 , the projector management module to: send the first control signal to cause the projector to project the image corresponding to a graphical user interface (GUI); and detect, based on the second control signal, an interaction with the GUI. 77 . The computing device of claim 76 , the projector management module to modify the projected image based on the interaction with the GUI. 78 . A computer-implemented method, comprising: projecting a first image via a projector, the projector at least partially embedded in an enclosure of a computing device comprising a display, the first image to compliment a second image displayed on the display; and detecting an interaction with the projected first image in response to signals received from a detector coupled to the computing device. 79 . The computer-implemented method of claim 78 , comprising: projecting the first image corresponding to a virtual input device; and detecting an interaction with the projected image corresponding to the virtual input device. 80 . The computer-implemented method of claim 78 , the virtual input device a keyboard comprising a plurality of keys. 81 . The computer-implemented method of claim 80 , the detector a camera to capture movement proximate to the projected first image. 82 . The computer-implemented method of claim 78 , the projector comprising a projector module disposed within the projector, the projector module to rotate about at least one axis. 83 . The computer-implemented method of claim 82 , the projector comprising a projector adjustment ring coupled to the projector module, the projector adjustment ring to provide, responsive to user interaction, adjustment of the projector module along the at least one axis. 84 . The computer-implemented method of claim 79 , comprising projecting the virtual input device to a position off-center from the display. 85 . The computer-implemented method of claim 78 , comprising: projecting the first image corresponding to a graphical user interface (GUI); and detecting an interaction with the GUI. 86 . The computer-implemented method of claim 85 , comprising modifying the projected image based on the detected interaction with the GUI. 87 . At least one machine-readable storage medium comprising instructions that when executed by a processor of a device comprising an enclosure housing a display and a projector at least partially embedded in the enclosure, cause the processor to: project, via the projector, a first image, the first image to compliment a second image displayed on the display; and detect an interaction with the projected first image in response to signals received from a detector coupled to the computing device. 88 . The at least one machine-readable storage medium of claim 87 , comprising instructions that cause the processor to: project the first image corresponding to a virtual input device; and detect an interaction with the projected image corresponding to the virtual input device. 89 . The at least one machine-readable storage medium of claim 87 , the virtual input device a keyboard comprising a plurality of keys. 90 . The at least one machine-readable storage medium of claim 87 , the projector comprising: a projector module disposed within the projector, the projector module to rotate about at least one axis; and a projector adjustment ring coupled to the projector module, the projector adjustment ring to provide, responsive to user interaction, adjustment of the projector module along the at least one axis. 91 . The at least one machine-readable storage medium of claim 88 , comprising instructions that cause the processor to project the virtual input device to a position off-center from the display. 92 . The at least one machine-readable storage medium of claim 87 , comprising instructions that cause the processor to: project the first image corresponding to a graphical user interface (GUI); and detect an interaction with the GUI. 93 . The at least one machine-readable storage medium of claim 92 , comprising instructions that cause the processor to modify the projected image based on the detected interaction with the GUI.
