In one embodiment, a method includes sending information configured to render a first view of a virtual space on a display device associated with a user, wherein the virtual space has a first location associated with a first social-commentary item and a second location associated with a second social-commentary item, wherein the first location is within the first view and the second location is outside the first view; sending information configured to render a first user-interface element comprising a representation of the first social-commentary item and a second user-interface element indicating a presence of the second social-commentary item; receiving an input from the user comprising a request to change the first view to a second view of the virtual space; and sending information configured to render the second view of the virtual space and a representation of the second social-commentary item within the second view.

1 . A method comprising, by a computing system: sending information configured to render a first view of a virtual space on a display device associated with a user, wherein the virtual space has a first location associated with a first social-commentary item and a second location associated with a second social-commentary item, wherein the first location is within the first view and the second location is outside the first view; sending information configured to render a first user-interface element comprising a representation of the first social-commentary item and a second user-interface element indicating a presence of the second social-commentary item; receiving an input from the user comprising a request to change the first view to a second view of the virtual space; and sending information configured to render the second view of the virtual space and a representation of the second social-commentary item within the second view. 2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the virtual space is a virtual room. 3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the virtual space comprises a rendering of a photo. 4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the virtual space comprises a rendering of a video. 5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the video is a live-streaming video, wherein the first and second social-commentary items are associated with the respective first and second locations as they are created by respective one or more users. 6 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the first and second social-commentary items are each associated with respective temporal information that specifies respective time ranges in the video, and wherein the first and second user-interface elements appear only during the respective time ranges in the video. 7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the respective temporal information is based on a respective time-point at which a user created the respective social-commentary item. 8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the second user-interface element comprises an indication of a relative position of the second user-interface element with respect to the first view of the virtual space. 9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the indication is an arrow symbol. 10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the second user-interface element is rendered in a peripheral area of the first view, the peripheral area being in the direction of the second location. 11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the social-commentary item is a reaction of a user. 12 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the social-commentary item is a comment of a user. 13 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the computing system comprises a remote server. 14 . One or more computer-readable non-transitory storage media embodying software that is operable when executed to: send information configured to render a first view of a virtual space on a display device associated with a user, wherein the virtual space has a first location associated with a first social-commentary item and a second location associated with a second social-commentary item, wherein the first location is within the first view and the second location is outside the first view; send information configured to render a first user-interface element comprising a representation of the first social-commentary item and a second user-interface element indicating a presence of the second social-commentary item; receive an input from the user comprising a request to change the first view to a second view of the virtual space; and send information configured to render the second view of the virtual space and a representation of the second social-commentary item within the second view. 15 . The media of claim 14 , wherein the virtual space comprises a rendering of a video. 16 . The media of claim 15 , wherein the first and second social-commentary items are each associated with respective temporal information that specifies respective time ranges in the video, and wherein the first and second user-interface elements appear only during the respective time ranges in the video. 17 . The media of claim 16 , wherein the respective temporal information is based on a respective time-point at which a user created the respective social-commentary item. 18 . The media of claim 14 , wherein the second user-interface element comprises an indication of a relative position of the second user-interface element with respect to the first view of the virtual space. 19 . The media of claim 14 , wherein the second user-interface element is rendered in a peripheral area of the first view, the peripheral area being in the direction of the second location. 20 . A system comprising: one or more processors; and a non-transitory memory coupled to the processors comprising instructions executable by the processors, the processors operable when executing the instructions to: send information configured to render a first view of a virtual space on a display device associated with a user, wherein the virtual space has a first location associated with a first social-commentary item and a second location associated with a second social-commentary item, wherein the first location is within the first view and the second location is outside the first view; send information configured to render a first user-interface element comprising a representation of the first social-commentary item and a second user-interface element indicating a presence of the second social-commentary item; receive an input from the user comprising a request to change the first view to a second view of the virtual space; and send information configured to render the second view of the virtual space and a representation of the second social-commentary item within the second view.
