Embodiments describe a wireless charging device that includes: a housing having an outer perimeter and one or more walls defining an interior cavity; a charging surface within the outer perimeter of the housing; a transmitter coil arrangement disposed within the interior cavity below the planar charging surface, the transmitter coil arrangement comprising a plurality of transmitter coils arranged in different layers, each transmitter coil having a pair of termination ends; wherein the plurality of transmitter coils comprises a plurality of inner transmitter coils and a plurality of outer transmitter coils positioned around the inner transmitter coils; and wherein the pair of termination ends of the plurality of outer transmitter coils are arranged differently than the pair of termination ends of the plurality of inner transmitter coils.

What is claimed is: 1 . A wireless charging device comprising: a housing having an outer perimeter and one or more walls defining an interior cavity; a charging surface within the outer perimeter of the housing; a transmitter coil arrangement disposed within the interior cavity below the planar charging surface, the transmitter coil arrangement comprising a plurality of transmitter coils arranged in different layers, each transmitter coil having a pair of termination ends; wherein the plurality of transmitter coils comprises a plurality of inner transmitter coils and a plurality of outer transmitter coils positioned around the inner transmitter coils; and wherein the pair of termination ends of the plurality of outer transmitter coils are arranged differently than the pair of termination ends of the plurality of inner transmitter coils. 2 . The wireless charging device of claim 1 , wherein the pair of termination ends of the plurality of inner transmitter coils are arranged at an angle between one another, and the pair of termination ends of the plurality of outer transmitter coils are arranged parallel to one another. 3 . The wireless charging device of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of inner transmitter coils is oriented in radial directions that are at an angular offset with each other. 4 . The wireless charging device of claim 1 , wherein the termination ends of the plurality of outer transmitter coils are oriented toward the outer perimeter of the wireless charging device. 5 . The wireless charging device of claim 1 , wherein the pair of termination ends terminate in an inner diameter of the transmitter coil. 6 . The wireless charging device of claim 1 , wherein the pair of termination ends are coupled to a bobbin. 7 . The wireless charging device of claim 1 , wherein each outer coil has a first portion and a second portion, wherein the first portion has less turns than the second portion and is less efficient than the second portion. 8 . The wireless charging device of claim 7 , wherein the first portion of each outer coil is oriented toward the outer perimeter of the wireless charging device. 9 . The wireless charging device of claim 7 , wherein the second portion of each outer coil is oriented toward the inner transmitter coils. 10 . A wireless charging device comprising: a housing having an outer perimeter and one or more walls defining an interior cavity; a planar charging surface within the outer perimeter of the housing; a transmitter coil arrangement disposed within the interior cavity below the planar charging surface, the transmitter coil arrangement comprising a plurality of transmitter coils arranged in different layers, each transmitter coil having a pair of termination ends; wherein the plurality of transmitter coils is organized in an overlapping arrangement such that different coils in the plurality of coils are on different planes and each of the plurality of transmitter coils has a central axis positioned a lateral distance away from the central axes of all other transmitter coils of the plurality of transmitter coils wherein the plurality of transmitter coils comprises a plurality of inner transmitter coils and a plurality of outer transmitter coils positioned around the inner transmitter coils; and wherein the pair of termination ends of the plurality of inner transmitter coils are arranged at an angle between one another, and the pair of termination ends of the plurality of outer transmitter coils are arranged parallel to one another. 11 . The wireless charging device of claim 10 , wherein the pair of termination ends of both the plurality of inner transmitter coils and the plurality of outer transmitter coils terminate in an inner diameter of their respective transmitter coil. 12 . The wireless charging device of claim 10 , wherein the pair of termination ends are coupled to a bobbin. 13 . A wireless charging system, comprising: an electrical device comprising a receiver coil configured to generate a current to charge a battery when exposed to a time-varying magnetic flux; and a wireless charging mat configured to generate the time-varying magnetic flux to wirelessly charge the electronic device, the wireless charging mat comprising: a transmitter coil arrangement positioned within the interior cavity, the transmitter coil arrangement comprising a plurality of transmitter coils arranged in different layers, each transmitter coil having a pair of termination ends; wherein the plurality of transmitter coils comprises a plurality of inner transmitter coils and a plurality of outer transmitter coils positioned around the inner transmitter coils; and wherein the pair of termination ends of the plurality of outer transmitter coils are arranged differently than the pair of termination ends of the plurality of inner transmitter coils. 14 . The wireless charging system of claim 13 , wherein the pair of termination ends of the plurality of inner transmitter coils are arranged at an angle between one another, and the pair of termination ends of the plurality of outer transmitter coils are arranged parallel to one another. 15 . The wireless charging system of claim 13 , wherein the plurality of inner transmitter coils is oriented in radial directions that are at an angular offset with each other. 16 . The wireless charging system of claim 13 , wherein the termination ends of the plurality of outer transmitter coils are oriented toward the outer perimeter of the wireless charging device. 17 . The wireless charging system of claim 13 , wherein the pair of termination ends terminate in an inner diameter of the transmitter coil. 18 . The wireless charging system of claim 13 , wherein the pair of termination ends are coupled to a bobbin. 19 . The wireless charging system of claim 13 , wherein each outer coil has a first portion and a second portion, wherein the first portion has less turns than the second portion and is less efficient than the second portion. 20 . The wireless charging system of claim 19 , wherein the first portion of each outer coil is oriented toward the outer perimeter of the wireless charging device.
