What is claimed as new and desired to be protected by Letters Patent of the United States is: 1 . A reagent mixture for an electrochemical triglyceride assay comprising: a surfactant; a triglyceride hydrolyzing reagent; Glycerol kinase; Glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase; a coenzyme; and a redox agent capable of being oxidized or reduced to form a product. 2 . The reagent mixture of claim 1 , wherein the triglyceride hydrolyzing reagent is lipoprotein lipase. 3 . The reagent mixture of claim 1 , wherein the coenzyme is nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD). 4 . The reagent mixture of claim 1 , wherein the surfactant includes a bile acid derivative. 5 . The reagent mixture of claim 1 , wherein the surfactant includes a salt of a bile acid derivative. 6 . The reagent mixture of claim 4 , wherein the bile acid derivative is selected from a list of bile acids consisting of 5-Cholenic acid-3β-ol; 5α-Cholanic acid-3α-ol-6-one 3-acetate methyl ester; 5β-Cholanic acid 3,7-dione methyl ester; 5β-Cholanic acid; 5β-Cholanic acid-3α,12α-diol 3-acetate methyl ester; Chenodeoxycholic acid; Cholic acid; Deoxycholic acid; Glycoursodeoxycholic acid; Hyodeoxycholic acid methyl ester; Hyodeoxycholic acid; Lithocholic acid; Sodium cholate hydrate; Sodium deoxycholate; Sodium glycochenodeoxycholate; Sodium taurochenodeoxycholate; Sodium taurocholate hydrate; Taurocholic acid sodium salt hydrate; and Ursodeoxycholic acid. 7 . The reagent mixture of claim 1 , further comprising a Diaphorase enzyme. 8 . A system for the electrochemical detection of triglyceride levels, the system comprising: a test strip including an electrode and a counter electrode, the electrode and counter electrode located proximate to a sample reception area; and a coating on one of the electrode and counter electrode, the coating including a reagent coating for triglycerides. 9 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the coating includes: a surfactant; a triglyceride hydrolyzing reagent; Glycerol kinase; Glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase; a coenzyme; and a redox agent capable of being oxidized or reduced to form a product. 10 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the triglyceride hydrolyzing reagent is lipoprotein lipase. 11 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the coenzyme is nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD). 12 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the surfactant includes a bile acid derivative. 13 . The system of claim 7 , wherein the surfactant includes a salt of a bile acid derivative. 14 . A reagent mixture for an electrochemical triglyceride assay comprising: a triglyceride hydrolyzing reagent; Glycerol kinase; Glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase; a coenzyme; and a redox agent capable of being oxidized or reduced to form a product. 15 . The reagent mixture of claim 14 , further comprising a surfactant. 16 . The reagent mixture of claim 15 , wherein the triglyceride hydrolyzing reagent is lipoprotein lipase. 17 . The reagent mixture of claim 16 , wherein the coenzyme is nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD). 18 . The reagent mixture of claim 17 , wherein the surfactant includes a bile acid derivative. 19 . The reagent mixture of claim 17 , wherein the surfactant includes a salt of a bile acid derivative. 20 . A system for the electrochemical detection of triglyceride levels, the system comprising: a test strip including an electrode and a counter electrode, the electrode and counter electrode located proximate to a sample reception area; a coating on one of the electrode and counter electrode, the coating including a reagent coating for triglycerides; and an analyzer for receiving the test strip and including instructions stored on a non-transitory medium for applying a current or a voltage to the test strip and responsively determining an amount of triglycerides. 21 . The system of claim 20 , wherein the coating includes: a surfactant; a triglyceride hydrolyzing reagent; Glycerol kinase; Glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase; a coenzyme; and a redox agent capable of being oxidized or reduced to form a product. 22 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the triglyceride hydrolyzing reagent is lipoprotein lipase. 23 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the coenzyme is nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD). 24 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the surfactant includes a bile acid derivative. 25 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the surfactant includes a salt of a bile acid derivative. 26 . A method of detecting triglycerides, the method comprising: providing an electrochemical test strip; placing the electrochemical test strip in an analyzer; placing a blood sample on the electrochemical test strip; measuring a current provided through the blood sample and the electrochemical test strip; and calculating a level of triglycerides with the analyzer based on the current. 27 . The method of claim 26 , wherein the test strip includes an electrode and a counter electrode, the electrode and counter electrode located in a sample reception area; and a coating on one of the electrode and counter electrode, the coating including a reagent coating for triglycerides. 28 . The system of claim 27 , wherein the coating includes: a surfactant; a triglyceride hydrolyzing reagent; Glycerol kinase; Glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase; a coenzyme; and a redox agent capable of being oxidized or reduced to form a product. 29 . The system of claim 28 , wherein the triglyceride hydrolyzing reagent is lipoprotein lipase. 30 . The system of claim 28 , wherein the coenzyme is nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD). 31 . The system of claim 28 , wherein the surfactant includes a bile acid derivative. 32 . The system of claim 28 , wherein the surfactant includes a salt of a bile acid derivative.
