Abstract

A remote communication system includes: a first communication terminal configured to establish a call session for transmitting and receiving at least a voice with a target communication terminal, and to communicate with the target communication terminal; and a second communication terminal configured to participate in the call session. The second communication terminal provides a given function that is not limited to a telephone call to one of the first communication terminal and the target communication terminal, in response to a request from one of a user of the second communication terminal, the first communication terminal, and the target communication terminal.

First claim

What is claimed is:

1 . A remote communication system comprising:
a first communication terminal configured to establish a call session for transmitting and receiving at least a voice with a target communication terminal, and to communicate with the target communication terminal; and a second communication terminal configured to participate in the call session, the second communication terminal providing one of the first communication terminal and the target communication terminal with a given function that is not limited to a telephone call, in response to a request from one of a user of the second communication terminal, the first communication terminal, and the target communication terminal.

The remote communication system according to claim 1 , wherein the second communication terminal provides image data of a document to the first communication terminal, and performs a mediating process for printing original data of the document in response to the request from the target communication terminal.

The remote communication system according to claim 2 , wherein in response to the request from the target communication terminal, the second communication terminal stores the original data of the document in a cloud storage service, acquires a token for acquiring the original data from the cloud storage service, and informs the target communication terminal of the token.

4 . The remote communication system according to claim 2 , wherein in response to the request from the target communication terminal, the second communication terminal transmits the original data of the document to a cloud print service, acquires a token for acquiring a printed material from the cloud print service, and informs the target communication terminal of the token.

5 . A communication terminal comprising:
a participating unit configured to participate in a call session for transmitting and receiving at least a voice, the call session being established between a first communication terminal and a target communication terminal; and a providing unit configured to provide one of the first communication terminal and the target communication terminal with a given function that is not limited to a telephone call, in response to a request from one of a user of the communication terminal, the first communication terminal, and the target communication terminal.

6 . A remote communication method performed by a computer of a second communication terminal, the remote communication method comprising:
participating in a call session for transmitting and receiving at least a voice, the call session being established between a first communication terminal and a target communication terminal; and providing one of the first communication terminal and the target communication terminal with a given function that is not limited to a telephone call, in response to a request from one of a user of the second communication terminal, the first communication terminal, and the target communication terminal.
