1 - 17 . (canceled) 18 . A nasal delivery device comprising: a housing; a nosepiece for fitting in a nostril of a subject, the nosepiece connected to the housing; a substance supply unit configured to deliver a metered dose of a substance through the nosepiece; a flow resistor; and a trigger mechanism configured to actuate the substance supply unit upon generation of a predetermined pressure, the trigger mechanism comprising a flexible member defining a chamber within the housing in fluid communication with the nosepiece. 19 . The nasal delivery device of claim 18 , wherein the flexible member is a resilient membrane. 20 . The nasal delivery device of claim 18 , wherein the substance supply unit further comprises a biasing element and a release mechanism. 21 . The nasal delivery device of claim 20 , wherein the trigger mechanism further comprises a linkage coupling the flexible member and the release mechanism. 22 . The nasal delivery device of claim 18 , further comprising a nozzle, wherein the nozzle is fluidly connected to the substance supply unit and is configured to provide an aerosol spray through the nosepiece. 23 . The nasal delivery device of claim 18 , wherein the substance supply unit comprises a mechanical delivery pump. 24 . The nasal delivery device of claim 18 , wherein the substance is a liquid or a powder. 25 . The nasal delivery device of claim 18 , wherein the substance supply unit comprises a nebulizer. 26 . A nasal delivery device comprising: a housing; a nosepiece for fitting in a nostril of a subject, the nosepiece connected to the housing; a substance supply unit configured to deliver a metered dose of a substance through the nosepiece; a mouthpiece through which the subject exhales to actuate the substance supply unit, the mouthpiece fluidly connected to the housing; a flow resistor; and a trigger mechanism configured to actuate the substance supply unit upon generation of a predetermined pressure, the trigger mechanism comprising a flexible member defining a chamber within the housing in fluid communication with the nosepiece. 27 . The nasal delivery device of claim 26 , wherein the mouthpiece is in fluid communication with the chamber. 28 . The nasal delivery device of claim 26 , wherein the flexible member is a resilient membrane. 29 . The nasal delivery device of claim 26 , wherein the substance supply unit further comprises a biasing element and a release mechanism. 30 . The nasal delivery device of claim 29 , wherein the trigger mechanism further comprises a linkage coupling the flexible member and the release mechanism. 31 . The nasal delivery device of claim 26 , wherein the substance is a liquid or a powder. 32 . A nasal delivery device comprising: a housing; a first nosepiece for fitting in a nostril of a subject, the first nosepiece connected to the housing; a substance supply unit configured to deliver a metered dose of a substance through the first nosepiece; a mouthpiece through which the subject exhales to actuate the substance supply unit, the mouthpiece fluidly connected to the housing; a flow resistor, comprising a progressive flow resistor in fluid communication with a second nosepiece; and a trigger mechanism configured to actuate the substance supply unit upon generation of a predetermined pressure, the trigger mechanism comprising a flexible member defining a chamber within the housing in fluid communication with the first nosepiece. 33 . The nasal delivery device of claim 32 , wherein the progressive flow resistor, when inflated, indicates operation of the nasal delivery device. 34 . The nasal delivery device of claim 32 , wherein the flexible member is a resilient membrane. 35 . The nasal delivery device of claim 32 , wherein the substance supply unit further comprises a biasing element and a release mechanism. 36 . The nasal delivery device of claim 35 , wherein the trigger mechanism further comprises a linkage coupling the flexible member and the release mechanism. 37 . The nasal delivery device of claim 32 , wherein the substance is a liquid or a powder.
