Official abstract text for this publication.
Embodiments of the present disclosure a method for determining product relevancy including extracting metadata from an image file of a digital image collection, the metadata being indicative of at least one feature of the image file. The method includes creating an input profile corresponding to the metadata extracted from the image files of the digital image collection. The method includes comparing the input profile to a product profile, the product profile having one or more rules corresponding to a consumer product, wherein the rules are indicative of the requirements of the product. The method includes determining a match score, the match score indicative of a relevancy of the product profile to the input profile such that a high relevancy correlates to a consumer product that is suited to the input profile and a low relevancy correlates to the consumer product that is not suited to the input profile.

1 . A method for determining product relevancy, the method comprising: extracting metadata from an image file of a digital image collection, the metadata being indicative of at least one feature of the image file; creating an input profile corresponding to the metadata extracted from the image files of the digital image collection; comparing the input profile to a product profile, the product profile having one or more rules corresponding to a consumer product, wherein the rules are indicative of the requirements of the product; and determining a match score, the match score indicative of a relevancy of the product profile to the input profile such that a high relevancy correlates to a consumer product that is suited to the input profile and a low relevancy correlates to the consumer product that is not suited to the input profile. 4 . The method of claim 1 , comprising adding a reward to the match score when the rule has a positive result, the reward increasing the value of the match score. 5 . The method of claim 1 , comprising adding a penalty to the match score when the rule has a negative result, the penalty decreasing the value of the match score. 6 . The method of claim 1 , comprising receiving a pre-loaded product profile catalog from a server, containing product profiles for a finite number of consumer products. 7 . The method of claim 1 , comprising displaying consumer products associated with product profiles for match scores above a threshold. 8 . The method of claim 1 , comprising listing the consumer products from highest match score to lowest match score. 9 . A method to determine and display relevant consumer products related to image files, the method comprising: providing an image processing system to a user on a user computing device; and receiving the image files at a server, the server including one or more processors and a memory that stores product profiles related to consumer products, the one or more processors operating to: produce, responsive to the received image files, an input profile defined at least in part by extracting metadata from the image files; compare the input profile to the product profiles related to consumer products, the product profiles including one or more elements corresponding to the metadata of the input file; determine a match score by applying a reward or penalty based on the correlation of the image profile to the product profile, the reward increasing the value of the match score; and output, to the image processing system, a list of the consumer products determined relevant to the input profile based on the value of the match score. 10 . The method of claim 9 , comprising uploading the image file to the user computing device via wired or wireless electronic transfer. 11 . The method of claim 9 , wherein relevancy of the consumer product is determined by comparing the match score to a threshold value. 12 . The method of claim 9 , comprising activating a product window of the user computing device upon receipt of the list from the server, the product window displaying the list of consumer products. 13 . The method of claim 12 , comprising sorting the list of consumer products by match score, popularity, price, or a combination thereof. 14 . The method of claim 9 , where the product profiles for the consumer products are pre-loaded onto the memory of the server. 15 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium with computer-executable instructions stored thereon executed by one or more processors to perform a method to determine relevancy of a consumer product based on an image file, the method comprising: generating an input profile by extracting at least one metadata feature from the image file; comparing the input profile to a product profile, the product profile having at least one element corresponding to the at least one metadata feature; calculating a match score based on the comparison between the input profile and the product profile, wherein a positive comparison between the input profile and the product profile increases the value of the match score; and outputting a list of consumer products based on the value of the match score, the list comprising products having a respective match score above a threshold value. 16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the one metadata features comprises time and date metadata, location metadata, content-based metadata, face-based metadata, event-based metadata, or a combination thereof. 17 . The method of claim 15 , comprising arranging the consumer products on the list in descending order based on the match score, the list being output on a display in communication with the one or more processors and the memory. 18 . The method of claim 15 , comprising generating a second input profile from one or more image files having at least one common metadata feature, the second input profile being comparable to the product profile. 19 . The method of claim 15 , comprising importing the image file via wired or wireless electronic transfer.
