Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Methods and systems for improving seat selection at a venue are described. The methods and systems help users understand how good a view they will have of a performance or event and/or how enjoyable an experience they will have before they purchase a ticket. A user selects a seat and is able to access relevant traits of people who purchased seats proximate to the selected seat. Relevant traits include physical features such as height, weight, build, etc., and behavior information, such as how noisy or quiet the person is.

What is claimed is: 1 . A system, comprising: one or more processors configured to: receive a selection for a first seat at a venue from a user device of a first user; provide at least one image taken proximate to the first seat and including a viewing area of the venue to the user device; determine at least one physical characteristic of a second user who purchased a ticket for a second seat positioned between the first seat and the viewing area; and provide a visual display including an outline of a person based on the at least one physical characteristic of the second user to the user device. 2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to provide information regarding at least one additional user who purchased a ticket proximate to the first seat to the user device. 3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to provide behavior information for the second user to the user device. 4 . The system of claim 3 , wherein the behavior information is associated with at least one of an event, a performance, and an artist. 5 . The system of claim 3 , wherein the behavior information comprises at least one trait of at least one of making noise, dancing, singing, chanting, making hand motions, shouting, being quiet, and remaining calm. 6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one physical characteristic comprises at least one of a height of the second user, a weight of the second user, and a build of the second user. 7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more processors are further configured to determine the at least one physical characteristic of the second user based on at least one of information provided by the second user via a service provider website and a picture including the second user. 8 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the viewing area comprises at least one of a stage, a basketball court, and a football field. 9 . A method, comprising: receiving a selection for a first seat at a venue from a user device of a first user; providing at least one image taken proximate to the first seat and including a viewing area for the venue to the user device; determining at least one physical characteristic of a second user who purchased a ticket for a second seat positioned between the first seat and the viewing area; and providing a visual display including an outline of a person based on the at least one physical characteristic of the second user to the user device. 10 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising providing information regarding at least one additional user who purchased a ticket proximate to the first seat to the user device. 11 . The method of claim 9 , wherein determining the at least one physical characteristic of the second user comprises determining at least one of a height of the second user, a weight of the second user, and a build of the second user. 12 . The method of claim 9 , wherein providing at least one image taken proximate to the first seat and including a viewing area comprises providing the at least one image taken proximate to the first seat and including at least one of a stage, a basketball court, and a football field. 13 . The method of claim 12 , further comprising providing the behavior information of the second user including at least one trait of at least one of making noise, w dancing, singing, chanting, making hand motions, shouting, being quiet, and remaining calm to the user device. 14 . The method of claim 9 , wherein determining the at least one physical characteristic of the second user comprises determining the at least one physical characteristic of the second user based on at least one of information provided by the second user via a service provider website and a picture including the second user. 15 . One or more non-transitory computer-readable media that include instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, are configured to cause one or more processors to perform operations, the operations comprising: receiving a selection for a first seat at a venue from a user device of a first user; providing at least one image taken proximate to the first seat and including a viewing area for the venue to the user device; determining at least one physical characteristic of a second user who purchased a ticket for a second seat positioned between the first seat and the viewing area; and providing a visual display including an outline of a person based on the at least one physical characteristic of the second user to the user device. 16 . The computer-readable media of claim 15 , the operations further comprising providing information regarding at least one additional user who purchased a ticket proximate the first seat to the user device. 17 . The computer-readable media of claim 15 , wherein determining the at least one physical characteristic of the second user comprises determining at least one of a height of the second user, a weight of the second user, and a build of the second user. 18 . The computer-readable media of claim 15 , further comprising determining behavior information of the second user associated with at least one of an event, a performance, and an artist. 19 . The computer-readable media of claim 18 , further comprising providing the behavior information of the second user including at least one trait of at least one of making noise, dancing, singing, chanting, making hand motions, shouting, being quiet, and remaining calm to the user device. 20 . The computer-readable media of claim 15 , wherein determining the at least one physical characteristic of the second user comprises determining the at least one physical characteristic of the second user based on at least one of information provided by the second user via a service provider website and a picture including the second user.
