Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A device for removing security on content using biometric information includes a memory configured to store content on which security has been set based on first biometric information of a user; and a controller configured to obtain second biometric information of the user, which is of a different type than the first biometric information, and remove the security on the content based on the second biometric information, in response to a user input for executing the content.

1 . A method of providing a user interface by an electronic device, the method comprising: storing a plurality of pieces of biometric information of a user in a memory of the electronic device, the plurality of pieces of biometric information being associated with an identification of the user; displaying a lock screen presenting biometric information categories of the plurality of pieces of biometric information of the user stored in the memory of the electronic device; receiving a selection of a category from the biometric information categories presented in the lock screen; based on the category being selected, displaying a first instruction associated with the selected category on the display of the electronic device and obtaining, using a first biometric module, first input biometric information of the selected category from the user, wherein the first biometric module is electrically connected to a processor of the electronic device; displaying an authentication failure notification based on unsuccessful authentication of the user using the obtained first input biometric information of the user of the selected category and a corresponding piece of the plurality of pieces of biometric information stored in the memory of the electronic device; displaying a second instruction associated with another category of the plurality of pieces of biometric information on the display of the electronic device and obtaining, using a second biometric module, second input biometric information of the other category from the user, wherein the second biometric module is electrically connected to the processor of the electronic device; and displaying an unlocked screen based on successful authentication of the user using the obtained second input biometric information of the user of the other category and a piece of the plurality of pieces of biometric information corresponding to the other category. 2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of pieces of biometric information are associated with the identification of the user based on a security key comprising a password. 3 . (canceled) 4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the displaying of the lock screen comprises: presenting in the lock screen an unlock option, without presenting in the lock screen a user interface item for opening an application executable by the electronic device. 5 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the displaying of the unlocked screen comprises: presenting in the unlocked screen the user interface item for opening the application executable by the electronic device. 6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein each of the biometric information categories comprises one from among fingerprints, voice patterns, facial recognition patterns, iris patterns, vein distribution patterns, retina patterns, gait patterns, and electrocardiograms (ECG). 7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the displaying of the lock screen comprises: presenting in the lock screen an entry field for receiving a password of the user, and presenting in the lock screen a user interface item indicating that additional unlock options are available for the user while presenting the entry field. 8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the displaying of the lock screen further comprises: based on an input to the user interface item, presenting in the lock screen the biometric information categories of the plurality of pieces of biometric information of the user as available unlock options. 9 . (canceled) 10 . An electronic device for providing a user interface, the electronic device comprising: a memory storing instructions; and a processor configured to execute the instructions to at least: control to store a plurality of pieces of biometric information of a user in the memory of the electronic device, the plurality of pieces of biometric information being associated with an identification of the user; control to display a lock screen presenting biometric information categories of the plurality of pieces of biometric information of the user stored in the memory of the electronic device; control to receive a selection of a category from the biometric information categories presented in the lock screen; based on the category being selected, control to display a first instruction associated with the selected category on a display of the electronic device and to obtain, using a first biometric module, first input biometric information of the selected category from the user, wherein the first biometric module is electrically connected to the processor of the electronic device; control to display an unlocked screen based on successful authentication of the user using the obtained first input biometric information of the user of the selected category and a corresponding piece of the plurality of pieces of biometric information stored in the memory of the electronic device; control to display an authentication failure notification based on unsuccessful authentication of the user using the obtained first input biometric information of the user of the selected category and the corresponding piece of the plurality of pieces of biometric information stored in the memory of the electronic device; control to display a second instruction associated with another category of the plurality of pieces of biometric information on the display of the electronic device and to obtain, using a second biometric module, second input biometric information of the other category from the user, wherein the second biometric module is electrically connected to the processor of the electronic device; and control to display the unlocked screen based on successful authentication of the user using the obtained second input biometric information of the user of the other category and a piece of the plurality of pieces of biometric information corresponding to the other category. 11 . The electronic device of claim 10 , wherein the plurality of pieces of biometric information are associated with the identification of the user based on a security key comprising a password. 12 . (canceled) 13 . The electronic device of claim 10 , wherein the controlling to display the lock screen comprises: controlling to present in the lock screen an unlock option, without presenting in the lock screen a user interface item for opening an application executable by the electronic device. 14 . The electronic device of claim 4013 , wherein the controlling to display the unlocked screen comprises: controlling to present in the unlocked screen the user interface item for opening the application executable by the electronic device. 15 . The electronic device of claim 10 , wherein each of the biometric information categories comprises one from among fingerprints, voice patterns, facial recognition patterns, iris patterns, vein distribution patterns, retina patterns, gait patterns, and electrocardiograms (ECG). 16 . The electronic device of claim 10 , wherein at least one of the first input biometric information and the second input biometric information is automatically obtained in response to the receiving the selection of the category. 17 . (canceled) 18 . The electronic device of claim 10 , wherein at least one of the first biometric module and the second biometric module is embedded in the electronic device. 19 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions executable by a processor of an electronic device to cause the processor to perform operations comprising: controlling to store a plurality of pieces of biometric in
