This invention relates to an elastomeric article with improved lubricity and donnablity and reduced stickiness/tackiness. According to the methods of the invention, the internal surface of the elastomeric article is coated with a polyisoprene coating. The coating of the invention is formed from synthetic polyisoprene rubber that may or may not contain minor amounts of other components. The coating is preferably directly bonded to the underlying elastomeric article.

1 . A method of making a coated elastomeric article comprising: forming an elastomeric material; coating the elastomeric material with a polyisoprene coating; wherein the coating has protrusions made from the coating composition. 2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the forming an elastomeric material comprises dipping a mold into a latex composition and drying the latex coated mold in at least one hot air oven. 3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the polyisoprene coating is synthetic. 4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the elastomeric article is a rubber elastomeric article. 5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the coating is applied by dipping, spraying, brushing, flowing, or printing. 6 . The method of claim 5 , wherein the coating is applied by single dipping or multiple dipping. 7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises a leaching step. 8 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the leaching step is before coating the elastomeric material. 9 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the leaching step is after coating the elastomeric material. 10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the coating is a single coating. 11 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the coating is a at least two coatings. 12 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises a chlorination step. 13 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the method further comprises a lubrication step. 14 . The method of claim 4 , wherein the elastomeric rubber article is made from natural rubber, synthetic polyisoprene, polychloroprene, nitrile, carboxylated acrylonitrile butadiene rubber, styrene butadiene rubber, butadiene copolymer, polyurethane, vinyl, or mixtures thereof. 15 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the protrusions do not contain additional particles. 16 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the coating composition is applied to a first surface of the elastomeric article. 17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the first surface is an internal surface of the elastomeric article. 18 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the first surface is an external surface of the elastomeric article. 19 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the first surface is a skin-contacting surface. 20 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the elastomeric article is a glove, tube, condom, probe cover, dental dam, finger cot, film, shunt, valve, stent, catheter, or implant. 21 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the coating composition has a total solids content of from about 3% to about 15%.
