A method for manufacturing a display unit is provided, and the method includes forming a first insulating film, forming a plurality of first electrodes on the first insulating film, forming a second insulating film on the first electrodes, forming a plurality of openings corresponding to the first electrodes, forming a plurality of organic layers formed in a shape of a stripe having notch parts, forming a second electrode on the organic layer having the notch parts is formed, and forming a protective film on the second electrode.

The invention is claimed as follows: 1 . A method for manufacturing a display unit having a matrix configuration constructed by a plurality of lines and columns of a plurality of organic light emitting devices on a substrate, comprising: forming a TFT on the substrate; forming a first insulating film on the TFT; forming a data signal wiring and an extraction electrode on the first insulating film; forming a second insulating film on the data signal wiring; forming a plurality of anode electrodes and a first wiring on the second insulating film; forming a second insulating film in an area between two of the plurality of first electrodes; forming an organic layer on the plurality of anode electrodes by deposition; and forming a cathode electrode covering the plurality of anode electrodes, wherein the cathode electrode is connected to the extraction electrode via the first wiring, and wherein at least a portion of the first wiring is covered with the cathode electrode and directly connected to the cathode electrode. 2 . The method for manufacturing a display unit according to the claim 1 , the organic layer is formed by using a deposition mask having a plurality of openings. 3 . The method for manufacturing a display unit according to the claim 2 , a body part of the deposition mask includes a material having magnetic characteristics. 4 . The method for manufacturing a display unit according to the claim 2 , the deposition mask is attached on the substrate. 5 . The method for manufacturing a display unit according to the claim 4 , the deposition mask is arranged facing to a deposition source of a deposition apparatus.
