What is claimed is: 1 . A display device comprising: a flexible display panel; a roller on which the flexible display panel is selectively wound and unwound, the roller having a slit extending longitudinally along a curved surface of the roller, at least a portion of the roller extending continuously along a circumference of the roller from a first sidewall portion of the roller to a second sidewall portion of the roller; a printed circuit board configured to control an operation of the flexible display panel, and located within the roller; a case configured to house the roller; an elevating mechanism configured to extend the flexible display panel from the case, and including a guide rail and at least one link configured to elevate the guide rail; and first and second guide brackets connected to the at least one link, each of the first and second guide brackets including a rotational link portion rotatably connected to one of the at least one link. 2 . The display device of claim 1 , wherein the first guide bracket and the second guide bracket are configured to move linearly along the guide rail without rotating. 3 . The display device of claim 1 , wherein the at least one link comprises a first link and a second link, wherein the first guide bracket is located at one end of the first link and movable along the guide rail, and wherein the second guide bracket is located at one end of the second link and movable along the guide rail. 4 . The display device of claim 3 , wherein the first link and the second link are rotatable in opposite directions to move the first guide bracket and the second guide bracket linearly along the guide rail. 5 . The display device of claim 1 , wherein the guide rail is attached to the flexible display panel. 6 . The display device of claim 1 , wherein the first guide bracket is located at one end of the at least one link and movable along the guide rail. 7 . The display device of claim 1 , wherein the first guide bracket and the second guide bracket each include a guide portion located within the guide rail, and wherein the rotational link portion extends from the guide portion. 8 . The display device of claim 7 , wherein the at least one link comprises a first link and a second link, and wherein the rotational link portion of the first guide bracket is rotatably connected to the first link, and the rotational link portion of the second guide bracket is rotatably connected to the second link. 9 . The display device of claim 8 , wherein the first link and the second link are rotatable in opposite directions, and wherein the first guide bracket and the second guide bracket are configured to move linearly along the guide rail without rotating. 10 . A display device comprising: a flexible display panel; a roller having an outer surface on which the flexible display panel is selectively wound and unwound; a printed circuit board configured to control an operation of the flexible display panel, and located within the roller; and a connecting unit configured to connect the flexible display panel to the printed circuit board, and disposed between the flexible display panel and the printed circuit board, wherein the roller includes a slit extending longitudinally along a curved surface of the roller, at least a portion of the roller extending continuously along a circumference of the roller from a first sidewall portion of the roller to a second sidewall portion of the roller, and wherein the connecting unit includes a flexible printed circuit (FPC) or a tape carrier package (TCP). 11 . The display device of claim 10 , wherein the connecting unit is inserted into the slit of the roller. 12 . The display device of claim 11 , wherein the connecting unit extends generally radially with respect to the roller. 13 . The display device of claim 12 , wherein the connecting unit comprises a plurality of discrete FPC elements or TCP elements spaced apart from one another and spaced inwardly of opposite edges of the flexible display panel. 14 . The display device of claim 13 , further comprising adhesive means configured to attach an edge portion of the flexible display panel to an outer surface of the roller. 15 . The display device of claim 14 , wherein the adhesive means comprises an adhesive resin or an adhesive double-sided tape. 16 . The display device of claim 10 , further comprising adhesive means configured to attach an edge portion of the flexible display panel to an outer surface of the roller. 17 . The display device of claim 16 , wherein the adhesive means comprises an adhesive resin. 18 . The display device of claim 16 , wherein the adhesive means comprises an adhesive double-sided tape. 19 . The display device of claim 10 , wherein the connecting unit comprises a plurality of discrete FPC elements or TCP elements spaced apart from one another. 20 . The display device of claim 10 , wherein the connecting unit is spaced inwardly of opposite edges of the flexible display panel.
