What is claimed is: 1 . A clamp for a socket assembly, comprising: an upper plate; a lower plate arranged parallel to the upper plate, the upper plate capable of being pressed toward the lower plate; and a pressing section connected to the upper plate. 2 . The clamp of claim 1 , wherein an upper passageway extends through the upper plate and a lower passageway extends through the lower plate. 3 . The clamp of claim 2 , wherein the upper passageway is arranged coaxially with the lower passageway. 4 . The clamp of claim 3 , wherein the upper passageway has a chamfer at an upper side of the upper plate that faces away from the lower plate. 5 . The clamp of claim 1 , wherein the upper plate and the lower plate are connected by a connecting section. 6 . The clamp of claim 5 , wherein the connecting section is opposed to the pressing section. 7 . The clamp of claim 1 , wherein the pressing section extends from the upper plate at least partially towards the lower plate. 8 . The clamp of claim 1 , wherein the lower plate has a wing section extending from the lower plate toward the upper plate. 9 . The clamp of claim 1 , wherein the clamp is formed of a metal material. 10 . The clamp of claim 1 , wherein the clamp is elastically deformable. 11 . A socket assembly, comprising: a frame having a central opening receiving a circuit board; and a first clamp having an upper plate, a lower plate arranged parallel to the upper plate, and a pressing section connected to the upper plate, the pressing section abutting the circuit board. 12 . The socket assembly of claim 11 , wherein the lower plate has a wing section extending from the lower plate toward the upper plate. 13 . The socket assembly of claim 12 , wherein the frame has an anchoring section arranged below the wing section. 14 . The socket assembly of claim 11 , wherein the frame has an anchoring section arranged between the upper plate and the lower plate. 15 . The socket assembly of claim 14 , wherein the upper plate and the lower plate are capable of being pressed together such that the anchoring section is clamped between the upper plate and the lower plate. 16 . The socket assembly of claim 11 , wherein the frame is arranged on a carrier and the lower plate is in contact with the carrier. 17 . The socket assembly of claim 16 , wherein the upper plate and the lower plate are capable of being pressed together such that the circuit board is pressed against the carrier by the pressing section. 18 . The socket assembly of claim 11 , further comprising a second clamp identical to the first clamp. 19 . The socket assembly of claim 11 , wherein the circuit board is a printed circuit board of an LED package. 20 . The socket assembly of claim 11 , further comprising a cover arranged on the frame. 21 . The socket assembly of claim 11 , further comprising a contact spring arranged on the frame. 22 . The socket assembly of claim 21 , wherein the contact spring is connected to a wire and a contact pad of the circuit board.
