Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

There are provided computer systems and methods for performing componentized data storage. Such a system includes a hardware processor, a system memory, and a data componentization unit including a data resolution module and a data archiving module stored in the system memory. The hardware processor is configured to execute the data componentization unit to receive a data file including multiple data types, and to transform the data file into data components corresponding respectively to the multiple data types. The hardware processor is further configured to execute the data componentization unit to generate database entries each including one of the data components, and to store each of the database entries in one of multiple databases based on the data type corresponding to the data component included in the database entry.

What is claimed is: 1 . A computer system comprising: a hardware processor and a system memory; a data componentization unit including a data resolution module and a data archiving module stored in the system memory; wherein the hardware processor is configured to execute the data componentization unit to: receive a data file including a first plurality of data types; transform the data file into data components corresponding respectively to the first plurality of data types; generate a second plurality of database entries each including one of the data components; and store each of the second plurality of database entries in one of a third plurality of databases based on the data types corresponding respectively to the data components included in the second plurality of database entries. 2 . The computer system of claim 1 , wherein the second plurality of database entries each identifies the data file. 3 . The computer system of claim 2 , wherein the second plurality of database entries each identifies a geometric position of the data type corresponding to the included data component, in the data file. 4 . The computer system of claim 1 , wherein the second plurality of database entries each includes formatting instructions for the data type corresponding to the included data component. 5 . The computer system of claim 1 , wherein one of the first plurality of data types comprises text data. 6 . The computer system of claim 1 , wherein one of the first plurality of data types comprises images data. 7 . The computer system of claim 1 , wherein one of the first plurality of data types comprises tables data. 8 . The computer system of claim 1 , wherein one of the first plurality of data types comprises metadata. 9 . The computer system of claim 1 , wherein the componentized-data storage system is further configured to perform post-processing of at least one of the second plurality of database entries to produce at least one post-processed database entry. 10 . The computer system of claim 9 , wherein the componentized-data storage system is configured to perform post-processing of the at least one of the second plurality of database entries by performing optical character recognition (OCR). 11 . A method for use by a computer system having a hardware processor, the method comprising: receiving, using the hardware processor, a data file including a first plurality of data types; transforming, using the hardware processor, the data file into data components corresponding respectively to the first plurality of data types; generating, using the hardware processor, a second plurality of database entries each including one of the data components; and storing, using the hardware processor, each of the second plurality of database entries in one of a third plurality of databases based on the data types corresponding respectively to the data components included in the second plurality of database entries. 12 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the second plurality of database entries each identifies the data file. 13 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the second plurality of database entries each identifies a geometric position of the data type corresponding to the included data component, in the data file. 14 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the second plurality of database entries each includes formatting instructions for the data type corresponding to the included data component. 15 . The method of claim 11 , wherein one of the first plurality of data types comprises text. 16 . The method of claim 11 , wherein one of the first plurality of data types comprises images. 17 . The method of claim 11 , wherein one of the first plurality of data types comprises tables. 18 . The method of claim 11 , wherein one of the first plurality of data types comprises metadata. 19 . The method of claim 11 , wherein the componentized-data storage system is further configured to perform post-processing of at least one of the second plurality of database entries to produce at least one post-processed database entry. 20 . The method of claim 19 , wherein the componentized-data storage system is configured to perform post-processing of the at least one of the second plurality of database entries by performing optical character recognition (OCR).
