What is claimed is: 1 . A deep cleaner for delivering cleaning fluid to a surface to be cleaned and removing the cleaning fluid from the surface to be cleaned, the deep cleaner comprising: a base including a suction nozzle; a vacuum motor and fan assembly provided in the base and in fluid communication with the suction nozzle to generate a working air flow through the deep cleaner; a brush carriage assembly comprising spaced first and second support legs pivotally mounted to the base; a rotatable brushroll extending between and rotatably supported by the first and second support legs; a brush motor provided in the base; a first gear operably coupled with the brush motor and located within the first support leg; and a belt operably coupling the rotatable brushroll to the first gear, wherein the belt is provided within the first support leg. 2 . The deep cleaner of claim 1 , wherein the brush motor lies between the first and second support legs. 3 . The deep cleaner of claim 2 , wherein the brush motor is fixed with the first support leg. 4 . The deep cleaner of claim 1 and further comprising a belt cover, wherein the first support leg comprises a hollow member defining a belt compartment for receiving the belt and first gear, and the belt cover encloses the belt compartment. 5 . The deep cleaner of claim 4 , wherein the belt cover is removably mounted to the first support leg. 6 . The deep cleaner of claim 5 and further comprising a second gear provided within the belt compartment and spaced from the first gear, wherein the belt couples the second gear with the first gear. 7 . The deep cleaner of claim 5 and further comprising a pair of threaded fasteners attaching the belt cover to the first support leg. 8 . The deep cleaner of claim 1 and further comprising a second gear spaced from the first gear, wherein the belt couples the second gear with the first gear, and wherein the first and second gears are enclosed within the first support leg. 9 . The deep cleaner of claim 8 , wherein the second gear is keyed with the rotatable brushroll. 10 . The deep cleaner of claim 8 , wherein the brush motor comprises a motor drive shaft and the first gear comprises a pinion gear located at the end of the brush motor drive shaft for driving the belt. 11 . The deep cleaner of claim 1 , wherein the base comprises a base housing, a brush motor cover, and a brush motor cavity formed between the base housing and the brush motor cover, and wherein the brush motor is enclosed within the brush motor cavity. 12 . The deep cleaner of claim 11 and further comprising a brush motor cooling air path through the brush motor cavity, wherein the brush motor cooling air path comprises an inlet opening that fluidly connects the brush motor cavity with ambient air and an outlet opening. 13 . The deep cleaner of claim 1 and further comprising a brush motor cradle extending inwardly from the first support leg. 14 . The deep cleaner of claim 13 , wherein the brush motor cradle extends generally parallel to the rotatable brushroll. 15 . The deep cleaner of claim 13 and further comprising a brush motor cover mated with the brush motor cradle to define a brush motor cavity, and wherein the brush motor is enclosed within the brush motor cavity. 16 . The deep cleaner of claim 15 , wherein the brush motor cradle is integrally formed with the first support leg. 17 . The deep cleaner of claim 1 and further comprising: a fluid delivery system for storing cleaning fluid and delivering the cleaning fluid to the surface to be cleaned, and comprising: a solution supply tank assembly; a pump having an inlet in fluid communication with the solution supply tank assembly and an outlet; and a fluid distributor in fluid communication with the outlet of the pump; and a fluid recovery system for removing the spent cleaning fluid and dirt from the surface to be cleaned and storing the spent cleaning fluid and dirt, and comprising: a recovery tank assembly in fluid communication with the suction nozzle and the vacuum motor and fan assembly; wherein the fluid distributor is provided within the base reawardly of the suction nozzle and fowardly of the brush motor. 18 . The deep cleaner of claim 17 , wherein the deep cleaner is an upright deep cleaner comprising a handle assembly pivotally mounted to a rearward portion of the base for directing the base across a surface to be cleaned. 19 . The deep cleaner of claim 17 , wherein the recovery tank assembly comprises a tank housing comprising a fluorinated surface. 20 . A deep cleaner for delivering cleaning fluid to a surface to be cleaned and removing the cleaning fluid from the surface to be cleaned, the deep cleaner comprising: a base including a suction nozzle; a vacuum motor and fan assembly provided in the base and in fluid communication with the suction nozzle to generate a working air flow through the deep cleaner; a brush carriage assembly comprising spaced first and second support legs pivotally mounted to the base; a rotatable brushroll extending between and rotatably supported by the first and second support legs; a brush motor provided in the base; a brush motor cradle extending inwardly from the first support leg and generally parallel to the rotatable brushroll; a brush motor cover mated with the brush motor cradle to define a brush motor cavity, wherein the brush motor is enclosed within the brush motor cavity; a first gear operably coupled with the brush motor and located within the first support leg; and a belt operably coupling the rotatable brushroll to the first gear, wherein the belt is provided within the first support leg.
