In an automobile air conditioner, two heating devices for air heating (a condenser 13 and a heater core 14 ) are disposed in series close to each other. A housing 2 of a HVAC unit 1 defines therein an air feed passage. Two insertion/ejection slots 31 and 32 are formed in mutually different surfaces of the housing 2. The condenser 13 for heat pump cycle is mounted in the housing 2 by being inserted through the insertion/ejection slot 31 formed in the lower surface of the housing 2. The heater core 14 is mounted in the housing 2 by being inserted through the insertion/ejection slot 32 formed in a side surface of the housing 2. In place of the heater core 14, an electric heater (PTC heater 15 ) may be mounted in the housing 2.

1 . An automobile air conditioner including two heating devices provided in series in an air feed passage formed in a housing, the two heating devices being mounted in the housing by being inserted thereto respectively through two insertion/ejection slots formed in outer surfaces of the housing, wherein one of the two heating devices is a condenser for heat pump cycle and the other one of the two heating devices is an electric heater, the insertion/ejection slot for the condenser is formed in a lower surface of the housing and the insertion/ejection slot for the electric heater is formed in a side surface of housing, and the condenser is mounted in the housing by being inserted thereto from below while the electric heater is mounted in the housing by being inserted thereto from the side. 2 - 4 . (canceled) 5 . The automobile air conditioner according to claim 1 , wherein the electric heater includes a heater element to be housed in the housing and a control unit to protrude outside the housing, and the size, in an air feed passage direction, of the control unit is larger than the size, in the air feed passage direction, of the heater element.
