1 . A display device for a motor vehicle, the device having at least one annular gauge ( 1 ) and a display panel ( 2 ) having a display surface ( 20 ) intended to face the inside of a passenger compartment of the vehicle, the device comprising a transparent pane ( 4 ) positioned facing the display surface ( 20 ) and serving to support the annular gauge ( 1 ) which has a cut-out center to leave the surface of the panel ( 2 ) visible, the pane ( 4 ) having marks ( 41 ) at the periphery of the annular gauge ( 1 ), wherein the dimensions of the panel ( 2 ) are greater than those of the annular gauge ( 1 ). 2 . The device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the annular gauge ( 1 ) has a support ring ( 10 ) fastened to the pane ( 4 ). 3 . The device as claimed in claim 2 , wherein the support ring ( 10 ) comprises a crown ( 101 ) extending on the pane ( 4 ) so as to cover it at the periphery of an opening ( 40 ), and a tubular part ( 102 ) connected to the crown ( 101 ) and passing through the opening ( 40 ). 4 . The device as claimed in claim 3 , wherein the annular gauge ( 1 ) comprises an annulus ( 11 ) mounted rotatably and guided on the tubular part ( 102 ), the annulus ( 11 ) carrying a pointer ( 110 ) projecting beyond the crown ( 101 ). 5 . The device as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising at least one light source ( 42 ) at the periphery of the pane ( 4 ), in order to illuminate the marks ( 41 ) by using the pane ( 4 ) as a light guide. 6 . The device as claimed in claim 5 , wherein the light source ( 42 ) comprises an optical guide extending obliquely or perpendicularly to the pane ( 4 ) and having a reflection surface facing an edge of the pane ( 4 ) to reflect the light toward the pane ( 4 ). 7 . The device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein an optical fiber-based prism is positioned on the panel ( 2 ) in the cut-out of the annular gauge ( 1 ). 8 . The device as claimed in claim 2 , further comprising at least one light source ( 42 ) at the periphery of the pane ( 4 ), in order to illuminate the marks ( 41 ) by using the pane ( 4 ) as a light guide. 9 . The device as claimed in claim 3 , further comprising at least one light source ( 42 ) at the periphery of the pane ( 4 ), in order to illuminate the marks ( 41 ) by using the pane ( 4 ) as a light guide. 10 . The device as claimed in claim 4 , further comprising at least one light source ( 42 ) at the periphery of the pane ( 4 ), in order to illuminate the marks ( 41 ) by using the pane ( 4 ) as a light guide. 11 . The device as claimed in claim 2 , wherein an optical fiber-based prism is positioned on the panel ( 2 ) in the cut-out of the annular gauge ( 1 ). 12 . The device as claimed in claim 3 , wherein an optical fiber-based prism is positioned on the panel ( 2 ) in the cut-out of the annular gauge ( 1 ). 13 . The device as claimed in claim 4 , wherein an optical fiber-based prism is positioned on the panel ( 2 ) in the cut-out of the annular gauge ( 1 ). 14 . The device as claimed in claim 5 , wherein an optical fiber-based prism is positioned on the panel ( 2 ) in the cut-out of the annular gauge ( 1 ). 15 . The device as claimed in claim 6 , wherein an optical fiber-based prism is positioned on the panel ( 2 ) in the cut-out of the annular gauge ( 1 ).
