Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. In one implementation, an apparatus includes a processing system configured to transmit a scanning schedule to one or more devices, the scanning schedule comprising one or more candidate channels and a scan period corresponding to at least a first device of the one or more devices, and receive a report from the first device in response to the scanning schedule, wherein the report indicates a load on at least one of the one or more candidate channels during the scan period.

What is claimed is: 1 . An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising: a processing system configured to: transmit a scanning schedule to one or more devices, the scanning schedule comprising one or more candidate channels and a scan period corresponding to at least a first device of the one or more devices; and receive a report from the first device in response to the scanning schedule, wherein the report indicates a load on at least one of the one or more candidate channels during the scan period. 2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the processing system is further configured to schedule at least a second device of the one or more devices for data transmission service between the second device and the apparatus during the scan period associated with a load scanning operation by the first device. 3 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the scanning schedule further comprises a second scan period corresponding to at least a second device of the one or more devices. 4 . The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein the processing system is further configured to receive a second report from the second device in response to the scanning schedule, wherein the second report indicates a load on at least one of the one or more candidate channels during the second scan period. 5 . The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein the processing system is further configured to schedule the first device for data transmission service between the first device and the apparatus during the second scan period associated with a load scanning operation by the second device. 6 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the first device is an access terminal, and the apparatus is an anchor access point that supports a channel hopping operation of a hopping access point. 7 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the first device is an access terminal, and the apparatus is a hopping access point. 8 . An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising: a processing system configured to: receive a scanning schedule from a device, the scanning schedule comprising one or more candidate channels and a scan period corresponding to the apparatus; measure a load on at least one of the one or more candidate channels during the scan period in response to receipt of the scanning schedule; and report the measured load on at least one of the one or more candidate channels to the device. 9 . The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the scanning schedule further comprises a second scan period corresponding to at least a second apparatus. 10 . The apparatus of claim 9 , wherein the apparatus is scheduled for data transmission service between the apparatus and the device during the second scan period associated with a load scanning operation by the second apparatus. 11 . The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the apparatus is an access terminal, and the device is an anchor access point that supports a channel hopping operation of a hopping access point. 12 . The apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the apparatus is an access terminal, and the device is a hopping access point. 13 . A method of wireless communication at an apparatus, comprising: transmitting a scanning schedule to one or more devices, the scanning schedule comprising one or more candidate channels and a scan period corresponding to at least a first device of the one or more devices; and receiving a report from the first device in response to the scanning schedule, wherein the report indicates a load on at least one of the one or more candidate channels during the scan period. 14 . The method of claim 13 , further comprising: scheduling at least a second device of the one or more devices for data transmission service between the second device and the apparatus during the scan period associated with a load scanning operation by the first device. 15 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the scanning schedule further comprises a second scan period corresponding to at least a second device of the one or more devices. 16 . The method of claim 15 , further comprising: receiving a second report from the second device in response to the scanning schedule, wherein the second report indicates a load on at least one of the one or more candidate channels during the second scan period. 17 . The method of claim 15 , further comprising: scheduling a first device for data transmission service between the first device and the apparatus during the second scan period associated with a load scanning operation by the second device. 18 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the first device is an access terminal, and the apparatus is an anchor access point that supports a channel hopping operation of a hopping access point. 19 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the first device is an access terminal, and the apparatus is a hopping access point. 20 . A method of wireless communication at an apparatus, comprising: receiving a scanning schedule from a device, the scanning schedule comprising one or more candidate channels and a scan period corresponding to the apparatus; measuring a load on at least one of the one or more candidate channels during the scan period; and reporting the measured load on at least one of the one or more candidate channels to the device. 21 . The method of claim 20 , wherein the scanning schedule further comprises a second scan period corresponding to at least a second apparatus. 22 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the apparatus is scheduled for data transmission service between the apparatus and the device during the second scan period associated with a load scanning operation by the second apparatus. 23 . The method of claim 20 , wherein the apparatus is an access terminal, and the device is an anchor access point that supports a channel hopping operation of a hopping access point. 24 . The method of claim 20 , wherein the apparatus is an access terminal, and the device is a hopping access point. 25 . An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising: means for transmitting a scanning schedule to one or more devices, the scanning schedule comprising one or more candidate channels and a scan period corresponding to at least a first device of the one or more devices; and means for receiving a report from the first device in response to the scanning schedule, wherein the report indicates a load on at least one of the one or more candidate channels during the scan period. 26 . An apparatus for wireless communication, comprising: means for receiving a scanning schedule from a device, the scanning schedule comprising one or more candidate channels and a scan period corresponding to the apparatus; means for measuring a load on at least one of the one or more candidate channels during the scan period in response to receipt of the scanning schedule; and means for reporting the measured load on at least one of the one or more candidate channels to the device. 27 . A computer-readable medium storing computer executable code for wireless communication at an apparatus, comprising code for: transmitting a scanning schedule to one or more devices, the scanning schedule comprising one or more candidate channels and a scan period corresponding to at least a first device of the one or more devices; and receiving a report from the first device in response to the scanning schedule, wherein the report indicates a load on at least one
