Official abstract text for this publication.
A broadcast transmitter and a method of processing broadcast data in the broadcast transmitter are disclosed. The method includes the steps of performing RS encoding and CRC encoding on mobile service data to build RS frames belonging to an ensemble, wherein each of the RS frames are mapped into data groups, wherein each of the data groups comprises known data sequences and a portion of FIC data including information for rapid mobile service acquisition, wherein the information for rapid mobile service acquisition includes transport stream identification information for identifying a mobile broadcast carrying a mobile service that includes the mobile service data and C/N indication information for indicating whether the FIC data are applicable to a current transmission frame or a next transmission frame, multiplexing data in the data groups and main service data, and transmitting a transmission frame including the multiplexed data.

1 . A method of processing data in a media transmitter, the method comprising: generating media service data for a media service, wherein the media service data includes first media data and second media data, wherein both of the first media data and the second media data represent perceptually equivalent content, but the first media data is coded differently from the second media data; generating signaling information element including information for accessing the content, wherein the signaling information element further includes information for seamless switching between the first media data and the second media data while presenting the equivalent content; and transmitting the generated media service data and the generated signaling information element, wherein the signaling information element further includes information for synchronization of the first media data and the second media data. 2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the signaling information element further includes: location information specifying a location where the first media data or the second media data are provided. 3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the signaling information element further includes: sampling rate information specifying a sampling rate of the first media data or the second media data when the first media data or the second media data corresponds to audio data of the content. 4 . The method of claim 3 , wherein the signaling information element further includes: type information specifying a media type of the first media data or the second media data. 5 . A media transmitter for processing media data, the media transmitter comprising: an encoder that generates media service data for a media service, and signaling information element including information for accessing the content, wherein the media service data includes first media data and second media data, wherein both of the first media data and the second media data represent perceptually equivalent content, but the first media data is coded differently from the second media data, wherein the signaling information element further includes information for seamless switching between the first media data and the second media data while presenting the equivalent content; and a transmitting device that transmits the generated media service data and the generated signaling information element, wherein the signaling information element further includes information for synchronization of the first media data and the second media data. 6 . The media transmitter of claim 5 , wherein the signaling information element further includes: location information specifying a location where the first media data or the second media data are provided. 7 . The media transmitter of claim 6 , wherein the signaling information element further includes: sampling rate information specifying a sampling rate of the first media data or the second media data when the first media data or the second media data corresponds to audio data of the content. 8 . The media transmitter of claim 7 , wherein the signaling information element further includes: type information specifying a media type of the first media data or the second media data.
