Opening claim text (preview).
1 . A method for adsorbing radioactive material, comprising: contacting a titanate represented by a chemical formula M 2 Ti 2 O 5 , where M is a univalent cation, with a radioactive material. 2 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the titanate has an average particle diameter of 1 to 150 μm. 3 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the chemical formula is represented by K 2 Ti 2 O 5 . 4 . The method according to claim 3 , wherein the titanate has a shape in which a plurality of protrusions are extended in irregular directions. 5 . The method according to claim 1 , wherein the radioactive material is radioactive strontium. 6 . The method according to claim 1 , further comprising forming the titanate into particles having a particle diameter within a range of 150 to 3,000 μm with a binder, prior to contacting the titanate with the radioactive material. 7 . The method according to claim 6 , wherein the binder is a clay mineral. 8 . The method according to claim 7 , wherein the clay mineral is attapulgite. 9 . The method according to claim 6 , further comprising firing the particles at a temperature ranging from 500° C. to 900° C., after the forming of the titanate into the particles.
