Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

The present invention provides a method of transmitting broadcast signals. The method includes, receiving an uncompressed broadcast content from an external receiving unit, wherein an watermark is embedded in a frame of the uncompressed broadcast content; extracting the embedded watermark from the uncompressed broadcast content; parsing the extracted watermark; generating an URL by using information in the parsed watermark; and launching an application by using the generated URL, wherein the application provides the interactive services related to the uncompressed broadcast content.

1 - 20 . (canceled) 21 . A method of providing interactive services, the method comprising: receiving a broadcast content from an external input source, the broadcast content derived from a broadcast stream, wherein the broadcast content includes frames that a plurality of watermarks are embedded; extracting the embedded watermarks from the broadcast content; parsing the extracted watermarks; generating an URL by using information in the parsed watermarks; and requesting a supplementary content for the broadcast content to a server by using the generated URL; and retrieving the supplementary content from the server, wherein at least one of the watermarks includes at least one watermark block, the watermark block is either full watermark information or a fragment of watermark information. 22 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the at least one watermark block includes a fragment number field and a last fragment field, the fragment number field specifying a fragment number of a fragment included in the at least one watermark block, the last fragment field specifying a fragment number of last fragment of corresponding watermark information. 23 . The method of claim 21 , wherein one of the watermark information includes content identification message including at least one of a channel ID or a content ID, wherein the channel ID identifies a broadcast service associated with the broadcast content, and the content ID identifies the broadcast content received from the external input source. 24 . The method of claim 21 , wherein the content ID has a type of EIDR (Entertainment Industry Data Registry). 25 . The method of claim 21 , wherein one of the watermark information includes first information and second information, the first information identifying the server for acquisition of the supplementary content, and the second information identifying a specific point of the broadcast content in which a corresponding watermark is embedded. 26 . The method of claim 25 , wherein the one of the watermark information further includes third information specifying configuration of the watermark information. 27 . The method of claim 21 , wherein one of the watermarks includes an URL protocol field indicating a protocol that the URL uses, and wherein one of the other watermarks includes an URL field including a fraction of the URL. 28 . An apparatus for providing interactive services, the apparatus comprising: a receiving module that receives a broadcast content from an external input source, the broadcast content derived from a broadcast stream, wherein the broadcast content includes frames that a plurality of watermarks are embedded; an extracting module that extracts the embedded watermarks from the broadcast content; a parsing module that parses the extracted watermarks; a generating module that generates an URL by using information in the parsed watermarks; and a network interface that requests a supplementary content for the broadcast content to a server by using the generated URL, and retrieves supplementary content from the server, wherein at least one of the watermarks includes at least one watermark block, the watermark block is either full watermark information or a fragment of watermark information. 29 . The apparatus of claim 28 , wherein the at least one watermark block includes a fragment number field and a last fragment field, the fragment number field specifying a fragment number of a fragment included in the at least one watermark block, the last fragment field specifying a fragment number of last fragment of corresponding watermark information. 30 . The apparatus of claim 28 , wherein one of the watermark information includes content identification message including at least one of a channel ID or a content ID, wherein the channel ID identifies a broadcast service associated with the broadcast content, and the content ID identifies the broadcast content received from the external input source. 31 . The apparatus of claim 28 , wherein the content ID has a type of EIDR (Entertainment Industry Data Registry). 32 . The apparatus of claim 28 , wherein one of the watermark information includes first information and second information, the first information identifying the server for acquisition of the supplementary content, and the second information identifying a specific point of the broadcast content in which a corresponding watermark is embedded. 33 . The apparatus of claim 32 , wherein the one of the watermark information further includes third information specifying configuration of the watermark information. 34 . The apparatus of claim 28 , wherein one of the watermarks includes an URL protocol field indicating a protocol that the URL uses, and wherein one of the other watermarks includes an URL field including a fraction of the URL.
