A system for monitoring equipment in an oil well, the system including a first sensor attached to a first well component, a second sensor attached to a second well component, a transducer attached to one of the first or the second sensors, for generating a pulse, a transceiver for measuring parameters of the pulse generated by the transducer, and a processor in communication with the transceiver that receives information about parameters of the pulse as measured by the transceiver.

What is claimed is: 1 . A system for monitoring equipment in an oil well, the system comprising: a first sensor attached to a first well component; a second sensor attached to a second well component; a transducer attached to one of the first or the second sensors, for generating a pulse; a transceiver for measuring parameters of the pulse generated by the transducer; and a processor in communication with the transceiver that receives information about parameters of the pulse as measured by the transceiver.
