A bump stop assembly is provided for an access door. The assembly comprises a bump stop configured to couple to the access door or a door frame and a door closure gauge movably coupled to the bump stop. A closure pad couples the bump top to one of the door frame or the access door. The closure pad engages the other side of the access door and door frame when the door is closed. The thickness of a selected closure pad is determined based upon the extent that the door closure gauge protrudes relative to the bump stop.

What is claimed is: 1 . A bump stop assembly comprising: a bump stop coupled to one of an access door and a door frame; a door closure gauge movably coupled to the bump stop; and a closure pad coupled to the bump stop to engage the other of the access door and door frame when the access door is closed, wherein the closure pad is selected based upon an extent that the door closure gauge protrudes from the bump stop. 2 . The bump stop assembly of claim 1 , wherein the door closure gauge further comprises a measurement scale for determining the extent that the door closure gauge protrudes from the bump stop. 3 . The bump stop assembly of claim 1 , wherein the door closure gauge is color coded, wherein the extent that the door closure gauge protrudes from the bump stop is determined based upon a color of the door closure gauge that is visible. 4 . The bump stop assembly of claim 3 , wherein the closure pad is at least partially colored, and wherein the color corresponds to a thickness of the closure pad. 5 . The bump stop assembly of claim 4 , wherein the color coding of the door closure gauge corresponds to the color of the closure pad, such that the color of a portion of the door closure gauge protruding from the bump stop corresponds to the color of the closure pad. 6 . The bump stop assembly of claim 4 , wherein the color of the closure pad is not visible when assembled into the bump stop assembly. 7 . The bump stop assembly of claim 1 , wherein the closure pad comprises: a coupling portion configured to couple to the bump stop and one of the door frame and access door; and an engaging portion configured to engage with the other one of the door frame and access door and the bump stop. 8 . The bump stop assembly of claim 7 , wherein the coupling portion and the engaging portion of the closure pad are separate components. 9 . The bump stop assembly of claim 8 , wherein the coupling portion of the closure pad is configured to couple with an engaging portion of a selected size. 10 . The bump stop assembly of claim 7 , wherein the coupling portion of the closure pad is configured to directly engage one of the door frame, access door, and the bump stop. 11 . A kit of parts comprising: two or more closure pads configured to be coupled to a bump stop and one of an access door or a door frame, wherein the closure pad engages one of the access door and door frame when the access door is closed, wherein each of the closure pads provided by the kit of parts has a different thickness. 12 . The kit of parts according to claim 11 , wherein the closure pads are of different thicknesses. 13 . The kit of parts according to claim 11 , wherein the closure pad further comprises: a coupling portion and an engaging portion. 14 . The kit of parts according to any of claim 11 , wherein the closure pads are color coded to correspond to the thickness of the closure pad. 15 . The kit of parts according to claim 14 , wherein the color is not visible once the closure pad is coupled to the bump stop. 16 . A method of setting the closure of an access door comprising: coupling a bump stop to one of the access door and a door frame, wherein the bump stop is provided with a door closure gauge movably coupled to the bump stop; closing the access door until the door latches; opening the access door and determining an extent that the door closure gauge protrudes from the bump stop; and coupling a closure pad of appropriate thickness to the bump stop, such that the closure pad engages with one of the access door and the door frame when the door is closed. 17 . The method of claim 16 , wherein determining the extent that the door closure gauge protrudes from the bump stop is performed by referring to a measurement scale provided on the door closure gauge. 18 . The method of claim 16 , wherein determining the extent that the door closure gauge protrudes from the bump stop is performed by determining a color of a portion of the door closure gauge protruding from the bump stop. 19 . The method of any of claim 16 further comprises: selecting a closure pad of a desired thickness from a set of closure pads of different thicknesses. 20 . The method of claim 19 , wherein each closure pad in the set of closure pads is at least partially colored with a color corresponding to the thickness of the closure pad. 21 . The method of claim 20 , wherein the closure pad of the desired thickness is selected by matching the color of the closure pad to the color of a portion of the door closure gauge that protrudes from the bump stop.
