A co-forged iron type golf club is disclosed. More specifically, the present invention discloses a co-forged iron type golf club with the body portion made out of a face portion and a back portion and at least one weight adjustment portion monolithically encased within the back portion of the co-forged iron type golf club head without the need for secondary attachment or machining operations.

What is claimed is: 1 . A forged golf club head comprising: a body portion made out of a face portion and a back portion formed from a first material and having at least one weight cavity; at least one weight adjustment portion made out of a second material encased within said back portion; and wherein said weight adjustment portion is encased monolithically within said body portion. 2 . The forged golf club head of claim 1 , wherein the face portion comprises a striking face, a front sole portion and a hosel and the back portion comprises a back sole portion and a back wall with a toe weight member and a heal weight member monolithically encased therewith. 3 . The forged golf club head of claim 1 , wherein the face portion is comprised of a striking face, a front sole portion, a top line and a top toe portion and the back portion comprises a hosel and a back sole portion with a toe weight member and a heal weight member monolithically encased therewith. 4 . The forged golf club head of claim 2 , wherein the back portion has a mass of greater than 40 grams. 5 . The forged golf club head of claim 2 , wherein the toe weight member and the heel weight member together form greater than 23% of the club head mass. 6 . The forged golf club head of claim 2 , wherein the back portion, the toe weight member and the heel weight member together form greater than 40% of the club head mass. 7 . The forged golf club head of claim 3 , wherein the back portion forms between 25% and 40% of the club head mass. 8 . The forged golf club head of claim 3 , wherein the toe weight member and the heel weight member together form greater than 23% of the club head mass. 9 . The forged golf club head of claim 3 , wherein the back portion, the toe weight member and the heel weight member together form greater than 50% of the club head mass. 10 . A forged golf club head comprising: a body portion made out of a Maraging steel having a face portion and a back portion having at least one weight cavity; and at least one weight adjustment portion made out of a tungsten or tungsten alloy encased within at least one weight cavity within said back portion; wherein said weight adjustment portion is encased monolithically within said weight cavity of said back portion, and wherein said at least one weight adjustment portion is comprised of a weight member located near a toe and a weight member near a heel portion of a sole of said golf club head.
