Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A bioadhesive delivery catheter includes a manifold, a dual lumen tube, and a mixing member. The manifold includes a delivery device passage and an injection port. The tube is insertable into the delivery device passage and includes first and second lumens positioned side-by-side. The first lumen extends proximal of the second lumen within the delivery device passage, and the second lumen is in flow communication with the injection port. The mixing member is positioned between a proximal inlet of the injection port and the second lumen and is configured to help mix a bioadhesive material that is delivered through the injection port into the second lumen.

1 - 20 . (canceled) 21 . A bioadhesive delivery catheter assembly, comprising: a manifold comprising: a base; a delivery device passage through the base, the delivery device passage comprising a proximal end, a distal end, and a step positioned between the proximal and distal ends; a first port into the base; a first passage extending through the base and connecting the first port to the delivery device passage at a position distal to the step; a second port into the base; a second passage extending through the base and connecting the second port to the delivery device passage at a position proximal to the step; a delivery tube positioned in the delivery device passage, the delivery tube comprising a first lumen and a second lumen, the first lumen having a first proximal opening positioned distal to the step, the second lumen having a second proximal opening positioned proximal to the step. 22 . The bioadhesive delivery catheter assembly of claim 21 , wherein the first and second lumens are positioned side-by-side with in the delivery tube. 23 . The bioadhesive delivery catheter assembly of claim 21 , further comprising a mixing chamber connected to the delivery device passage, the first passage connecting the first port to the mixing chamber. 24 . The bioadhesive delivery catheter assembly of claim 21 , wherein at least one of the first and second proximal openings of the first and second lumens is tapered. 25 . The bioadhesive delivery catheter assembly of claim 21 , wherein the second port is longitudinally aligned with the delivery device passage. 26 . The bioadhesive delivery catheter assembly of claim 21 , wherein the proximal end of the delivery device passage is narrower than the distal end of the delivery device passage at a position proximal to the step. 27 . The bioadhesive delivery catheter assembly of claim 21 , wherein the first passage is connected to the delivery device passage at a sidewall of the delivery device passage, the sidewall sharing an edge with the step. 28 . The bioadhesive delivery catheter assembly of claim 21 , wherein the first and second proximal openings are longitudinally offset relative to each other. 29 . The bioadhesive delivery catheter assembly of claim 21 , wherein the first and second proximal openings are laterally offset relative to each other. 30 . The bioadhesive delivery catheter assembly of claim 21 , wherein the mixing chamber comprises a mixing member. 31 . A method of delivering a bioadhesive material, the method comprising: providing a manifold, and a delivery tube, the delivery tube comprising a first lumen having a first proximal opening, the delivery tube comprising a second lumen having a second proximal opening, the manifold comprising: a base; a delivery device passage through the base, the delivery device passage comprising a proximal end, a distal end, and a step positioned between the proximal and distal ends; a first passage extending through the base and connecting to the delivery device passage at a position distal to the step; a second passage extending through the base and connecting to the delivery device passage at a position proximal to the step; delivering a first bioadhesive material through the first passage to the first proximal opening of the first lumen of the delivery tube, the first bioadhesive material entering the first proximal opening at a position distal to the step. 32 . The method of claim 31 , further comprising delivering a second bioadhesive material through the second passage to the second proximal opening of the second lumen of the delivery tube, the second bioadhesive material entering the second proximal opening at a position proximal to the step. 33 . The method of claim 31 , further comprising providing a delivery device, the delivery device extending through the delivery device passage and into a vessel puncture. 34 . The method of claim 33 , further comprising locating the vessel puncture using the delivery device. 35 . The method of claim 31 , further comprising passing the first bioadhesive material through the first lumen of the delivery tube side-by-side with the second lumen of the delivery tube. 36 . The method of claim 31 , further comprising mixing the first bioadhesive material using a mixing member within the base. 37 . A method of forming a bioadhesive delivery catheter, comprising: forming a manifold having a delivery device passage, the delivery device passage having a proximal end, a distal end, and a step positioned between the proximal end and the distal end; forming a tube having first and second lumens, the first lumen having a first lumen proximal end, the second lumen having a second lumen proximal end; inserting the first lumen proximal end and the second lumen proximal end of the tube into the delivery device passage, the first lumen proximal end being positioned distal to the step, the second lumen proximal end being positioned proximal to the step. 38 . The method of claim 37 , further comprising forming a first port through the manifold, the first port providing flow communication with the first lumen proximal end within the delivery device passage, and forming a second port through the manifold, the second port providing flow communication with the second lumen proximal end within the delivery device passage. 39 . The method of claim 37 , further comprising forming a taper in the tube, the taper being positioned distal to the step when the first lumen proximal and the second lumen proximal end are positioned within the delivery device passage.
