There is provided a method for controlling different parts of a terminal that are able to communicate over at least a first radio access technology protocol and a second radio access technology protocol, where said first and second radio access technology protocols are different and wherein said method includes the steps of detecting ( 1301 ) in logical parts that operate a first radio access technology protocol that at least parts of a second radio access technology protocol should be activated or deactivated; transmitting ( 1303 ) an indication from logical parts that operates a first radio access technology protocol to logical parts that operates a second radio access technology protocol where said indication is an input to said logical parts that operate the second radio access technology protocol to activate or deactivate parts of second radio access technology protocol.

1 - 42 . (canceled) 43 . A method for controlling different parts of a terminal that are able to communicate over at least a first radio access technology protocol and a second radio access technology protocol, where said first and second radio access technology protocols are different and wherein said method includes the steps of: detecting in first logical parts that operate a first radio access technology protocol that at least parts of a second radio access technology protocol should be activated or deactivated; transmitting an indication from the first logical parts to second logical parts that operate the second radio access technology protocol, where the indication is an input to the second logical parts to activate or deactivate parts of the second radio access technology protocol. 44 . The method according to claim 43 , wherein said first radio access technology protocol is a radio access technology protocol according to a 3GPP-specified standard and wherein said second radio access technology protocol is a radio access technology protocol according to the IEEE 802.11 standard. 45 . The method according to claim 43 , wherein said first radio access technology protocol is a radio access technology protocol according to the IEEE 802.11 standard and wherein said second radio access technology protocol is a radio access technology protocol according to a 3GPP-specified standard. 46 . The method according to claim 43 , wherein the first or second radio access technology protocol is according to the 3GPP standard for LTE, GSM or WCDMA. 47 . The method according to claim 43 , wherein detecting in the first logical parts that at least parts of the second radio access technology protocol should be activated or deactivated includes receiving a request for transmitting such an indication from a network side of the first radio access technology protocol. 48 . The method according to claim 47 , wherein the method further comprises the step of: in response to receiving the request from the network side of the first radio access technology protocol, detecting at least one of radio quality and performance; and determining whether to transmit the indication from the first logical parts to the second logical parts based on at least one of the detected radio quality and the detected performance. 49 . The method according to claim 43 , wherein detecting in the first logical parts that at least parts of a second radio access technology protocol should be activated or deactivated includes detecting within the terminal and without any request thereof received from the network side of said first radio access technology. 50 . The method according to claim 49 , wherein the step of detecting in the first logical parts that at least parts of the second radio access technology protocol should be activated or deactivated is based on at least one of a detected radio quality and a detected performance. 51 . The method according to claim 49 , wherein the step of detecting in the first logical parts that at least parts of the second radio access technology protocol should be activated or deactivated is based on any one or more of: the speed at which the terminal is moving; the location of the terminal; the data throughput of the terminal; the data volume or buffer status of the terminal; and the level of the battery in the terminal. 52 . The method according to claim 43 , wherein transmitting the indication from the first logical parts to the second logical parts comprises transmitting an indication to activate or deactivate a radio modem. 53 . The method according to claim 43 , wherein the indication is an input to the second logical parts, and wherein the method further comprises the step of activating the second logical parts responsive to the indication. 54 . A terminal configured for communication over at least a first radio access technology protocol and a second radio access technology protocol, where said first and second radio access technology protocols are different, said terminal comprising: a first modem/processing circuit adapted for communication over the first radio access protocol; and a second modem/processing circuit adapted for communication over the second radio access protocol; wherein the first modem/processing circuit is further adapted to: detect that at least parts of the second modem/processing circuit should be activated or deactivated; and transmit an indication to the second modem/processing circuit, where said indication is an input to the second modem/processing circuit to activate or deactivate parts of second radio access technology protocol. 55 . The terminal according to claim 54 , wherein said first radio access technology protocol is a radio access technology protocol according to a 3GPP-specified standard and wherein said second radio access technology protocol is a radio access technology protocol according to the IEEE 802.11 standard. 56 . A method in a network operating according to a first radio access technology protocol for controlling a terminal device that is able to communicate over at least the first radio access technology protocol and a second radio access technology protocol, where said first and second radio access technology protocols are different, said method including the steps of: detecting in the network that logical parts in the terminal that operate the second radio access technology protocol should be activated or deactivated; and transmitting an indication to the terminal indicating that the terminal device should activate or deactivate the logical parts that operate the second radio access technology protocol. 57 . The method according to claim 56 , wherein the step of detecting in the network that the logical parts in the terminal that operate the second radio access technology protocol should be activated or deactivated comprises receiving an indication from a network that operates the second radio access technology protocol. 58 . A network node for use in a network operating according to a first radio access technology protocol, the network node being for use with a terminal that is able to communicate over at least the first radio access technology protocol and a second radio access technology protocol, where said first and second radio access technology protocols are different, the network node comprising processing circuitry adapted to: detect that logical parts in the terminal that operate a second radio access technology protocol should be activated or deactivated; and transmit an indication to the terminal indicating that the terminal should activate or deactivate the logical parts that operate the second radio access technology protocol.
