A flex shield operatively coupled to a seat assembly of an automotive vehicle for concealing a portion of the seat assembly. The flex shield comprising a flexible planar body portion extending laterally between a front edge and a rear edge and vertically between an upper edge and a lower edge. A plurality of elastic straps are fixedly secured to the body portion and adapted to be coupled to the seat assembly for maintaining tension on the flexible body portion. A plurality of pre-formed fold lines are formed in the body portion and extend between at least one of the front edge and rear edge for consistently controlling folding motion of the body portion between an unfolded position defining a generally planar body portion and a folded position wherein the body portion is collapsed along the fold lines.

What is claimed: 1 . A flex shield adapted to be operatively coupled to a seat assembly of an automotive vehicle for concealing a portion of the seat assembly, said flex shield comprising: a flexible planar body portion extending laterally between a front edge and a rear edge and vertically between an upper edge and a lower edge; a plurality of elastic straps fixedly secured to said body portion and adapted to be coupled to the seat assembly for maintaining tension on the flexible body portion; and a plurality of pre-formed fold lines formed in said body portion and extending between at least one of said front edge and rear edge for consistently controlling folding motion of said body portion between an unfolded position defining a generally planar body portion and a folded position wherein the body portion is collapsed along said fold lines. 2 . The flex shield as set forth in claim 1 wherein said pre-formed fold lines include at least one predetermined threaded stitch line extending between said front edge and said rear edge of said body portion. 3 . The flex shield as set forth in claim 2 wherein said plurality of elastic straps includes an upper strap extending between a proximal end fixedly secured to said rear edge of said body portion and an opposite distal end spaced from said rear edge and adapted to be coupled to the seat assembly. 4 . The flex shield as set forth in claim 3 wherein said plurality of elastic straps includes a lower strap extending between a proximal end fixedly secured to said front edge of said body portion and an opposite distal end adapted to be coupled to the seat assembly. 5 . The flex shield as set forth in claim 4 wherein said plurality of elastic straps includes an elastic cord extending between a proximal end fixedly secured to the bottom edge of said body portion and an opposite distal end adapted to be coupled to the seat assembly. 6 . The flex shield as set forth in claim 5 wherein said body portion includes at least one opening therethrough along the front edge adapted to fixedly secure the body portion to the seat assembly. 7 . A seat assembly for use in an automotive vehicle, said seat assembly comprising: a seat cushion; a seat back operatively coupled to said seat cushion; a riser assembly operatively coupled between the seat cushion for supporting the seat assembly above a floor of the vehicle, said riser assembly including a pair of front legs pivotally coupled to said seat cushion and a pair of rear legs pivotally coupled to said seat cushion for providing movement of said seat assembly between an upright seating position and at least one stowed position; and a flex shield operatively coupled to a seat assembly for concealing a portion of the seat assembly, said flex shield including a flexible planar body portion extending laterally between a front edge and a rear edge and vertically between an upper edge and a lower edge, a plurality of elastic straps fixedly secured to said body portion and adapted to be coupled to the seat assembly for maintaining tension on the flexible body portion, and a plurality of pre-formed fold lines formed in said body portion and extending between at least one of said front edge and rear edge for consistently controlling folding motion of said body portion between an unfolded position defining a generally planar body portion and a folded position wherein the body portion is collapsed along said fold lines during actuation of said seat assembly between said seating and stowed positions. 8 . The seat assembly as set forth in claim 7 wherein said pre-formed fold lines include at least one predetermined threaded stitch line extending between said front edge and said rear edge of said body portion. 9 . The seat assembly as set forth in claim 8 wherein said plurality of elastic straps includes an upper strap extending between a proximal end fixedly secured to said rear edge of said body portion and an opposite distal end spaced from said rear edge and fixedly secured to said seat cushion. 10 . The seat assembly as set forth in claim 9 wherein said plurality of elastic straps includes a lower strap extending between a proximal end fixedly secured to said front edge of said body portion and an opposite distal end coupled to the said riser assembly. 11 . The seat assembly as set forth in claim 10 wherein said plurality of elastic straps includes an elastic cord extending between a proximal end fixedly secured to the bottom edge of said body portion and an opposite distal end adapted to be coupled to the said riser assembly. 12 . The seat assembly as set forth in claim 10 wherein said body portion includes at least one opening therethrough along the front edge for fixedly securing the body portion to the said riser assembly.
