Provided is a waterborne adhesive composition comprising (i) an aqueous medium; (ii) one or more isocyanate compounds dispersed in said aqueous medium, and (iii) one or more functional silane compounds dispersed in said aqueous medium.

1 . A waterborne adhesive composition comprising (i) an aqueous medium (ii) one or more isocyanate compounds dispersed in said aqueous medium, and (iii) one or more functional silane compounds dispersed in said aqueous medium, wherein said isocyanate compound is selected from the group consisting of (a) one or more hydrophilically modified oligo-isocyanates, (b) one or more isocyanate-functional polyurethanes, wherein said polyurethane comprises the reaction product of one or more polyether polyols, one or more polyester polyols, or a mixture thereof, and one or more polyisocyanates, and (c) mixtures of (a) and (b); wherein said adhesive composition contains no colorant. 2 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein said one or more isocyanate compounds comprise one or more urethane prepolymer, wherein said urethane prepolymer comprises the reaction product of 4,4′-MDI with one or more polyol. 3 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein said one or more isocyanate compounds comprise one or more hydrophilically modified isocyanate trimer. 4 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein said composition additionally comprises one or more non-urethane polymer in the form of particles suspended in said aqueous medium.
