Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A method of updating and editing realized topologies, comprising presenting a realized topology to a user, receiving input indicating modification of portions of the realized topology, and with a processor, executing logic associated with the modified portions based on a number of lifecycle management actions (LCMAs) of the realized topology. A system to update and edit a realized topology, comprising a processor and a graphical user interface (GUI) communicatively coupled to the processor, in which the GUI presents to a user a graphical representation of the realized topology, and in which the system receives input indicating modification of portions of the realized topology, and with a processor, executes logic associated with the modified portions based on a number of lifecycle management actions (LCMAs) of the realized topology.

First claim

What is claimed is: 1 . A method of modifying realized topologies, comprising: presenting a realized topology to a user; receiving input indicating modification of portions of the realized topology; and with a processor, executing logic associated with the modified portions based on a number of lifecycle management actions (LCMAs) of the realized topology. 2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising presenting, via the GUI, a new realized topology based on the input indicating modification of portions of the realized topology. 3 . The method of claim 1 , in which executing logic associated with the modified portions based on a number of lifecycle management actions (LCMAs) of the realized topology is done on a virtual cloud network creating a virtually instantiated service, and in which alerts are presented to the user if events are generated by a monitoring system as a result of a number of policies associated with the realized topology being unsatisfied. 4 . The method of claim 1 , in which receiving input indicating modification of portions of the realized topology further comprises providing the user, via the GUI, suggestions indicating further modifications to the realized topology will conform with a number of policies associated with the realized topology. 5 . The method of claim 1 , in which receiving input indicating modification of portions of the realized topology comprises receiving a new realized topology by matching the realized topology with the new realized topology and the input indicating the modification of portions of the realized topology 6 . The method of claim 1 , in which the GUI illustrates graphically to the user the realized topology as comprising: a number of nodes; relationships between those nodes; properties of those nodes; policies associated with the nodes; lifecycle management operations associated with the nodes; or combination thereof. 7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising: presenting, via the graphical user interface (GUI), a realized topology to a user comprises calling application programming interfaces (APIs) to present to the user a graphical representation of the realized topology; or calling application programming interfaces (APIs) to execute logic associated with the modified portions based on a number of lifecycle management actions (LCMAs) of the realized topology. 8 . A system to update and edit a realized topology, comprising; a processor; and a graphical user interface (GUI) communicatively coupled to the processor, in which the GUI presents to a user a graphical representation of the realized topology; and in which the system; receives input indicating modification of portions of the realized topology, and with a processor, executes logic associated with the modified portions based on a number of lifecycle management actions (LCMAs) of the realized topology. 9 . The system of claim 8 , in which the GUI presents a new realized topology based on the input indicating modification of portions of the realized topology. 10 . The system of claim 8 , in which executing logic associated with the modified portions based on a number of lifecycle management actions (LCMAs) of the realized topology is done on a virtual cloud network creating a virtually instantiated service, and in which alerts are presented to the user if events are generated by a monitoring system as a result of a number of policies associated with the realized topology being unsatisfied. 11 . The system of claim 8 , in which the GUI illustrates graphically to the user the realized topology as comprising: a number of nodes; relationships between those nodes; properties of those nodes; policies associated with the nodes; lifecycle management operations associated with the nodes; or combination thereof. 12 . The system of claim 8 , in which presenting, via the graphical user interface (GUI), a realized topology to a user comprises calling application programming interfaces (APIs) to present to the user a graphical representation of the realized topology. 13 . A computer program product for updating and editing realized topologies, the computer program product comprising: a computer readable storage medium comprising computer usable program code embodied therewith, the computer usable program code comprising: computer usable program code to, when executed by a processor, present a realized topology to a user on a graphical user interface (GUI); computer usable program code to, when executed by he processor, receive input indicating modification of portions of the realized topology; and computer usable program code to, when executed by the processor, executing logic associated with the modified portions based on a number of lifecycle management actions (LCMAs) of the realized topology. 14 . The computer program product of claim 13 , further comprising computer usable program code to, when executed by the processor, presents, via the GUI, a new realized topology based on the input indicating modification of portions of the realized topology. 15 . The computer program product of claim 13 , further comprising computer usable program code to, when executed by the processor, provide suggestions indicating further modifications to the realized topology that will conform with a number of policies associated with the realized topology.
