Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A container ( 1 ) made from thermoplastic material obtained by blow moulding, or stretch-blow moulding, includes a body ( 2 ) and a petaloid bottom ( 5 ) that has a central area ( 7 ) from which feet ( 6 ) extend radially, alternating with valleys ( 10 ), each foot ( 6 ) including a peripheral portion ( 11 ) connected to the body ( 2 ) of the container and a central portion ( 12 ) connected to the central area ( 7 ), the container being characterized in that each foot further has a truncated portion ( 13 ) forming a seat for the container ( 1 ), extending between the peripheral portion ( 11 ) and the central portion ( 12 ).

1 . Container ( 1 ) made of thermoplastic material that is obtained by blow molding or stretch blow molding of a previously-injected preform, with the container ( 1 ) comprising a body ( 2 ) extending along a main axis (X) and comprising a petaloid-type bottom ( 5 ) that has a central zone ( 7 ) from which feet ( 6 ) alternating with valleys ( 10 ) extend radially, with each foot ( 6 ) comprising a peripheral portion ( 11 ) connected to the body ( 2 ) of the container and a central portion ( 12 ) connected to the central zone ( 7 ), wherein each foot also has a truncated portion ( 13 ), forming a seat for the container ( 1 ) and extending between the peripheral portion ( 11 ) and the central portion ( 12 ), the truncated portion ( 13 ) comprising a first surface ( 14 ) for connecting to the peripheral portion, a second surface ( 15 ) for connecting to the central portion, and an intermediate surface ( 16 ) connecting the first and second surfaces ( 14 , 15 ), the intermediate surface ( 16 ) being defined by the rotation of at least one generatrix curve (C 3 ) around a truncation axis (T) that is different from the main axis (X) and specific to each foot, the radius (R 3 ) of curvature of the curve (C 3 ) of the intermediate surface ( 16 ) being larger than the radius (R 1 , R 2 ) of curvature of generatrix curves (C 1 , C 2 ) of the first and second surfaces ( 14 , 15 ). 2 . Container ( 1 ) according to claim 1 , wherein the truncation axis (T) is inclined in relation to the main axis (X). 3 . Container ( 1 ) according to claim 2 , wherein the truncation axis (T) is inclined by an angle (α) of inclination in relation to the main axis (X) of between 0° and 65°. 4 . Container ( 1 ) according to claim 3 , wherein the angle (α) of inclination is 40°. 5 . Container ( 1 ) according to claim 1 , wherein the radius (R 3 ) of curvature of the generatrix curve (C 3 ) of the intermediate surface ( 16 ) is not constant. 6 . Container ( 1 ) according to claim 1 , wherein the radius (R 3 ) of curvature of the generatrix curve (C 3 ) of the intermediate surface ( 16 ) is at least 10 mm. 7 . Container ( 1 ) according to claim 1 , wherein the radius (R 3 ) of curvature of the generatrix curve (C 3 ) of the intermediate surface ( 16 ) is 28 mm. 8 . Container according to claim 1 , wherein the radius (R 3 ) of curvature of the generatrix curve (C 3 ) of the intermediate surface ( 16 ) is infinite, with the generatrix curve (C 3 ) of the surface ( 16 ) being considered to be a straight line. 9 . Container ( 1 ) according to claim 1 , wherein the ratio between the radius (R 3 ) of curvature of the generatrix curve (C 3 ) of the intermediate surface ( 16 ) and the radius (R 1 , R 2 ) of curvature of each generatrix curve (C 1 , C 2 ) of the connecting surfaces ( 14 , 15 ) is at least eight. 10 . Container ( 1 ) according to claim 2 , wherein the radius (R 3 ) of curvature of the generatrix curve (C 3 ) of the intermediate surface ( 16 ) is not constant. 11 . Container ( 1 ) according to claim 2 , wherein the radius (R 3 ) of curvature of the generatrix curve (C 3 ) of the intermediate surface ( 16 ) is at least 10 mm. 12 . Container ( 1 ) according to claim 2 , wherein the radius (R 3 ) of curvature of the generatrix curve (C 3 ) of the intermediate surface ( 16 ) is 28 mm. 13 . Container according to claim 2 , wherein the radius (R 3 ) of curvature of the generatrix curve (C 3 ) of the intermediate surface ( 16 ) is infinite, with the generatrix curve (C 3 ) of the surface ( 16 ) being considered to be a straight line. 14 . Container ( 1 ) according to claim 2 , wherein the ratio between the radius (R 3 ) of curvature of the generatrix curve (C 3 ) of the intermediate surface ( 16 ) and the radius (R 1 , R 2 ) of curvature of each generatrix curve (C 1 , C 2 ) of the connecting surfaces ( 14 , 15 ) is at least eight.
