Official abstract text for this publication.
A pneumatic vehicle tire includes a carcass extending between two bead cores. A belt structure is provided between the carcass and a tread strip which is connected with a pair of sidewalls. A runflat reinforcement is arranged at the inner side of each sidewall. A reinforcer is arranged within each bead portion of the tire. A bead filler extends from the bead ring along the reinforcer. To improve the runflat performance, handling and comfort properties of such a runflat tire, the reinforcer is arranged at the inner side of the bead filler. The reinforcer includes metal cords. The bead filler which extends beyond an end of the reinforcer, is made of a soft rubber compound with an IHRD harness lower than 80.

1 - 14 . (canceled) 15 . A pneumatic vehicle tire comprising: a carcass, said carcass being associated with two bead cores in bead portions of the tire, a belt structure provided between the carcass and a tread strip, a pair of sidewalls, a runflat reinforcement arranged at an inner side of each sidewall, a reinforcer arranged in each bead portion of the tire, and a bead filler extending from the bead core along the reinforcer, wherein the reinforcer is arranged internally of the bead filler and extends downwardly to the bead core, wherein the reinforcer comprises metal cords, wherein the bead filler extends beyond an upper end of the reinforcer, and wherein the runflat reinforcement and the bead filler have a substantially identical hardness and the bead filler is made of a soft rubber compound with an IHRD hardness lower than 80, wherein the reinforcer's metal cords are arranged at an angle within the range of 18 degrees to 35 degrees with respect to the radial direction of the tyre, wherein the carcass has a double layer comprising a first layer and a second layer, both the first layer and the second layer being turned up around the bead core, the reinforce being positioned between the first layer and the second layer, and wherein a majority of the lengths of the bead filler and the reinforce laterally overlap with the runflat reinforcement. 16 . The pneumatic tire according to claim 15 , wherein the reinforcer comprises steel cords. 17 . The pneumatic tire according to claim 15 , wherein the reinforcer is directly connected to an axially inner portion of the carcass. 18 . The pneumatic tire according to claim 15 , wherein the reinforcer has a radial height between 30 and 45 mm. 19 . The pneumatic tire according to claim 15 , wherein the reinforcer has a thickness between 0.9 and 1.5 mm. 20 . The pneumatic tire according to claim 15 , wherein a ratio of bead filler height/sidewall height is between 0.35 and 0.50. 21 . The pneumatic tire according to claim 15 , wherein the bead filler has an IHRD hardness between 75 and 79. 22 . The pneumatic tire according to claim 15 , comprising a bead protection portion embedding the bead core, the bead protection portion having a hardness substantially identical to the hardness of the bead filler. 23 . The pneumatic tire according to claim 15 , wherein the carcass comprises a ply join in a middle portion of each sidewall. 24 . The pneumatic tire according to claim 15 , wherein an outer carcass portion leads up to the belt structure. 25 . The pneumatic tire according to claim 15 , wherein the carcass comprises a first ply end in a region of the bead core and a second ply end in a middle portion of the sidewall. 26 . The pneumatic tire according to claim 15 , wherein the bead filler comprises a rubber mixture having an NR/BR ratio of 80 to 20. 27 . The pneumatic tire according to claim 15 , wherein a ratio of reinforce height/bead filler height is between 0.65 and 0.90. 28 . The pneumatic tire according to claim 15 , wherein the second layer of the carcass is positioned between the bead filler and the first layer of the carcass. 29 . The pneumatic tire according to claim 28 , wherein the first layer extends axially interior to the bead filler, around the bead core, axially exterior to the bead filler, and up to a first ply end in a middle portion of the sidewall above the bead filler. 30 . The pneumatic tire according to claim 28 , wherein the second layer extends axially interior to the bead filler, around the bead core, and up to a second ply end proximate to an axially outer portion of the bead core. 31 . The pneumatic tire according to claim 29 , wherein the second layer extends axially interior to the bead filler, around the bead core, and up to a second ply end proximate to an axially outer portion of the bead core.
