This invention is directed to a gift box for presenting a gift or other item to a recipient. The gift box contains various electronic components contained in some portion of the box which are used to effect, movement, sound, light or other special effects. The box may have one or more special effects which can be triggered automatically or by interaction with a user or gift box recipient.

First claim

1 . A gift box comprising: a box base comprising a base panel and four side panels arranged perpendicularly around the perimeter of the base panel and an open end opposite the base panel; a box lid which fits over the open end of the gift bag, the box lid having a transparent top surface; one or more mobile objects contained within a compartment within the box lid and visible through the transparent top surface; a motor module contained within a compartment within the box lid, the motor module connected to the one or more mobile objects and operative to cause movement of the one or more mobile objects; a switch which controls activation of the motor module. 2 . The gift box of claim 1 further comprising a sound module which is operative to store and playback at least one audio file through a speaker. 3 . The gift box of claim 2 , wherein the switch controls activation of the sound module. 4 . The gift box of claim 1 , wherein the switch is a press-button switch. 5 . The gift box of claim 1 , wherein the switch operates as a toggle switch. 6 . The gift box of claim 1 , wherein the box lid is permanently attached, along one side edge thereof, to the box base. 7 . The gift box of claim 1 , wherein the box lid contains two separate compartments therein. 8 . A gift box comprising: a box base having an interior space therein created by four side panels and a floor panel; a box lid operative to fit over the box base and closing the interior space therein; a three-dimensional design which protrudes upward from a top surface of the box lid; one or more LED lights contained beneath the three-dimensional design; a light module operative to illuminate the one or more LED lights upon activation; a switch operative to activate the light module. 9 . The gift box of claim 8 further comprising a sound module operative to store and playback at least one audio file through a speaker. 10 . The gift box of claim 9 , wherein the switch is operative to control activation of the sound module. 11 . The gift box of claim 8 , wherein the three-dimensional design is made of silicone. 12 . The gift box of claim 8 , wherein the three-dimensional design is transparent. 13 . The gift box of claim 8 , wherein the three-dimensional design is translucent. 14 . The gift box of claim 8 , wherein the box lid is permanently attached to the box base along one side edge. 15 . The gift box of claim 8 , wherein the switch is a press button switch. 16 . A gift box comprising: a base; a lid which fits over the base, the lid having at least one compartment therein; a special effects module chosen from one or more of the following: motor module, light module, and sound module; a switch which controls activation of the special effects module; wherein when the special effects module is activated, one or more of the following will occur: movement of one or more mobile objects attached to the lid; illumination of one or more lights; playback of at least one audio file through a speaker. 17 . The gift box of claim 16 , wherein the switch is a push button switch. 18 . The gift box of claim 17 , wherein the push button is accessed through a top surface of the lid. 19 . The gift box of claim 16 , wherein the lid is permanently attached to the lid along one side edge thereof. 20 . The gift box of claim 16 , wherein the special effects module is contained in a hidden compartment within the lid.
