An orthopedic device for implanting between adjacent vertebrae comprising: an arcuate balloon and a hardenable material within said balloon. In some embodiments, the balloon has a footprint that substantially corresponds to a perimeter of a vertebral endplate. An inflatable device is inserted through a cannula into an intervertebral space and oriented so that, upon expansion, a natural angle between vertebrae will be at least partially restored. At least one component selected from the group consisting of a load-bearing component and an osteobiologic component is directed into the inflatable device through a fluid communication means.

An expandable spinal fusion device, comprising: a) an upper endplate having an upper surface configured to engage bone; b) a first ramp that defines a first ramping surface that extends at an oblique angle with respect to the upper surface of the upper endplate; c) a lower endplate having a lower surface configured to engage bone; d) a second ramp having a second ramping surface that extends at an oblique angle with respect to the lower surface of the lower endplate; and e) a guidewire extending longitudinally through the device such that the device is insertable over the guidewire; wherein the upper surface of the upper endplate and the lower surface of the lower endplate define a height therebetween; wherein the height is increased when the first and second ramping surfaces slide along each other. 3 . The device of claim 2 , wherein the device has a cross-section substantially in the shape of an I-beam. 4 . The device of claim 2 , wherein the upper surface of the upper endplate and the lower surface of the lower endplate each include teeth extending therefrom for gripping bone. 5 . The device of claim 2 , wherein the upper surface of the upper endplate and the lower surface of the lower endplate each include openings to permit bony fusion therethrough. 6 . The device of claim 2 , wherein the device has an unexpanded configuration and an expanded configuration and wherein the upper surface of the upper endplate and the lower surface of the lower endplate are substantially parallel to one another in each of the unexpanded and expanded configurations. 7 . The device of claim 2 , wherein the guidewire does not contact either of the upper and lower endplates. 8 . The device of claim 2 , wherein the upper and lower endplates are modular. 9 . The device of claim 2 , wherein each of the upper endplate, the lower endplate, the first ramp, and the second ramp has a longitudinal axis and a cross-section transverse to the longitudinal axis, and the cross-sections of the upper and lower endplates are greater in width than the cross-sections of the first and second ramps. 10 . An expandable spinal fusion device, comprising: a first component having an upper surface, a first angled wall extending at an oblique angle from the upper surface, and a first opening to permit bony fusion through the first component; a second component having a lower surface, a second angled wall extending at an oblique angle from the lower surface, and a second opening to permit bony fusion through the second component; and a guidewire extending through the second component such that the second component can be delivered over the guidewire; wherein the first angled wall of the first component is slidable along the second angled wall of the second component to increase a height of the device. 11 . The device of claim 10 , wherein the device has a cross-section substantially in the shape of an I-beam. 12 . The device of claim 10 , wherein the upper surface of the first component includes teeth extending therefrom for gripping bone. 13 . The device of claim 10 , wherein the device has an unexpanded configuration and an expanded configuration and wherein the upper and lower surfaces are substantially parallel to one another in each of the unexpanded and expanded configurations. 14 . The device of claim 10 , wherein the first and second components mate with each other via a ridge and groove connection.
