A blade for a cutting instrument, in particular for medical use, includes a first ceramic layer, a second ceramic layer, and a heating device arranged between the first ceramic layer and the second ceramic layer.

First claim

Opening claim text (preview).

What is claimed is: 1 . A blade for a cutting instrument, comprising: a first ceramic layer; a second ceramic layer; and a heating device positioned between the first ceramic layer and the second ceramic layer. 2 . The blade according to claim 1 , wherein the first ceramic layer and the second ceramic layer are connected to each other and together form a monolithic component. 3 . The blade according to claim 1 , the heating device including at least one connection that is exposed to an exterior of the blade. 4 . The blade according to claim 1 , wherein at least one of the first ceramic layer and the second ceramic layer at least one of: (i) includes zirconium oxide; and (ii) is formed from a green ceramic film. 5 . The blade according to claim 1 , wherein at least one of: (i) the heating device includes a temperature-measuring device; and (ii) the heating device includes a heating wire that has at least one of a material thickness and a material composition that enables the blade to be repeatedly heated to a temperature above 500° C. 6 . The blade according to claim 1 , at least one fluid channel defined between the first ceramic layer and the second ceramic layer. 7 . The blade according to claim 6 , the at least one fluid channel including at least one opening that defines at least one of an inlet and an outlet for a fluid, the at least one opening located in a region of at least one of a cutting edge, a blade side, a blade spine, and a stem of the blade. 8 . The blade according to claim 7 , wherein at least one of (i) the at least one fluid channel and (ii) the at least one opening has a cross section defined, at least in certain regions, by at least one of a circular shape, an ellipsoidal shape, and a slot shape. 9 . The blade according to claim 6 , the at least one fluid channel having a cross section with a diameter in a range from 0.25 mm to 3 mm. 10 . The blade according to claim 1 , wherein the heating device is positioned so as to lie along a plane that runs through a cutting edge of the blade. 11 . The blade according to claim 10 , wherein the blade is symmetrical about the plane. 12 . The blade according to claim 1 , wherein the blade is configured to be mounted on a scalpel holder. 13 . A scalpel holder for a blade of a cutting instrument that has a heating device disposed between a first ceramic layer and a second ceramic layer, the scalpel holder comprising: at least one connection configured to contact the heating device of the blade. 14 . The scalpel holder according to claim 13 , further comprising: a fluid connection configured to at least one of feed fluid to and remove fluid from a fluid channel defined between the first ceramic layer and the second ceramic layer of the blade. 15 . A method of producing a blade for a cutting instrument, comprising: positioning a first ceramic-forming material layer in a plane, the first ceramic-forming material layer configured to generate a first ceramic layer; positioning a heating device on at least one of the first ceramic-forming material layer and a first ceramic layer generated via the first ceramic-forming material layer; positioning a second ceramic-forming material layer on the at least one of the first ceramic-forming material layer and the first ceramic layer generated via the first ceramic-forming material layer, such that the heating device is disposed between the second ceramic-forming material layer and the at least one of the first ceramic-forming material layer and the first ceramic layer generated via the first ceramic-forming material layer to form a layer arrangement; tempering the layer arrangement to convert at least one ceramic-forming material layer into at least one ceramic layer, such that the heating device is enclosed between the first ceramic layer generated via the first ceramic-forming material layer and a second ceramic layer generated via the second ceramic-forming material layer to form a sintered arrangement; and grinding the sintered arrangement to form a blade for at least one of a cutting instrument and a surgical instrument.
