Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A method for displaying an electronic document by an electronic device is provided. The method includes moving the electronic document in a display of the electronic document according to a user input, outputting an alert and temporarily stopping the moving of the electronic document when at least one edge of the electronic document reaches at least one boundary of the display, and displaying the electronic document having the at least one edge of the electronic document spaced apart from the at least one boundary of the display when an additional user input is received.

What is claimed is: 1 . A method for displaying an electronic document by an electronic device, the method comprising: moving the electronic document in a display according to a user input; outputting an alert and temporarily stopping the moving of the electronic document when at least one edge of the electronic document reaches at least one boundary of the display; and displaying the electronic document having the at least one edge of the electronic document spaced apart from the at least one boundary of the display when an additional user input is received. 2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising determining whether the at least one edge of the electronic document has reached the at least one boundary of the display. 3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the outputting of the alert includes at least one of a visual alert and an auditory alert, and wherein the visual alert includes at least one of: animation operations in which a color of a predetermined area of an edge of the electronic document is varied, or animation operations in which the electronic document performs a bouncing motion or a damped motion, on the display. 4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the temporarily stopping of the moving of the electronic document further includes displaying the electronic document in a form in which at least one edge of the electronic document is in contact with at least one boundary of the display. 5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the displaying of the electronic document while spacing the at least one edge of the electronic document apart from the at least one boundary of the display further includes displaying the electronic document without moving the electronic document when the at least one boundary of the electronic document is spaced a predetermined distance apart from the at least one boundary of the display. 6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the displaying of the electronic document while the at least one edge of the electronic document is spaced apart from the at least one boundary of the display further includes displaying an additional information display area in a space in which the at least one edge of the electronic document is spaced apart from the at least one boundary of the display. 7 . The method of claim 6 , wherein the displaying of the additional information display area further comprises displaying additional information related to the electronic document in the additional information display area. 8 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the displaying of the additional information related to the electronic document further comprises displaying at least one of a file name related to the electronic document, a generation date, a file format, a resolution, a file size, a modification date, an electronic document generator, and a file generation location. 9 . The method of claim 7 , wherein the displaying of the additional information related to the electronic document further includes displaying a uniform resource locator (URL) related to the electronic document. 10 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising: controlling an edit to the additional information according to a user input; and controlling a display of the edited additional information. 11 . The method of claim 9 , further comprising redirecting the display to the corresponding URL to display a web document when a user input for the URL is received. 12 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising: displaying an icon in an edge of the electronic document displayed to be spaced apart from at least one boundary of the display; and displaying the electronic document in a form in which the edge of the electronic document is in contact with the at least one boundary of the display, when a user input for the icon is received. 13 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising displaying the electronic document in a form in which an edge of the electronic document is in contact with at least one boundary of the display when a user input which is in the opposite direction of the additional user input is received. 14 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising displaying the electronic document in a form in which an edge of the electronic document is in contact with at least one boundary of the display when titling of the electronic device is detected. 15 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the direction of the additional user input is the same as the direction of the user input, and wherein the additional user input is consecutive with or inconsecutive with the user input. 16 . An electronic device, the electronic device comprising: a display including a touch sensitive device; and a processor, wherein the processor is configured to: control a movement of an electronic document in the display, output an alert and temporarily stop moving the electronic document in the display when at least one edge of the electronic document reaches at least one boundary of the display, and display the electronic document having the at least one edge spaced apart from the at least one boundary of the display when an additional user input is received. 17 . The electronic device of claim 16 , wherein the processor is further configured to determine whether at least one edge of the electronic document has reached at least one boundary of the display. 18 . The electronic device of claim 16 , wherein the processor is further configured to output at least one of a visual alert and an auditory alert as an alert, and wherein the visual alert is at least one of: an animation operation in which a color of a predetermined area of an edge of the electronic document is varied, or an animation operation in which the electronic document performs a bouncing motion or a damped motion, on the display. 19 . The electronic device of claim 16 , wherein the processor is further configured to control a display of the electronic document in a form in which at least one edge of the electronic document is in contact with at least one boundary of the display, when the electronic device stops moving the electronic document. 20 . The electronic device of claim 16 , wherein, when the electronic device displays the electronic document having at least one edge spaced apart from at least one boundary of the display, if the at least one edge of the electronic document is spaced a predetermined distance apart from the at least one boundary of the display, the processor is further configured to control a display of the electronic document without moving the electronic document. 21 . The electronic device of claim 16 , wherein, when the electronic device displays the electronic document having the at least one edge of the electronic document spaced apart from the at least one boundary of the display, the processor is further configured to control a display of an additional information display area in a space in which at least one edge of the electronic document is spaced apart from at least one boundary of the display. 22 . The electronic device of claim 21 , wherein the processor is further configured to control a display of additional information related to the electronic document in the additional information display area when the electronic device displays the additional information display area. 23 . The electronic device of claim 22 , wherein the processor is further configured to control a display of at least one of a file name related to the electronic
