1 - 20 . (canceled) 21 . A labeling article configured to be affixed to one or more items, the labeling article comprising: a sheet portion having a front surface and a rear surface; and a plurality of separate bands flatly conjoined to the sheet portion, and each of the plurality of bands comprising: a first end bonded to the rear surface of the sheet portion at a first bond zone; a second end bonded to the rear surface of the sheet portion at a second bond zone; and a stretchable span extending between the first end and the second end and flatly conjoined to the sheet portion, wherein the stretchable span is configured to be pulled away from the sheet portion and stretched to form a loop with the sheet portion that is extendable around a portion of the one or more items to which the labeling article is to be affixed. 22 . The labeling article of claim 21 , and further comprising a release liner secured to the rear surface and associated with the stretchable spans. 23 . The labeling article of claim 21 , and further comprising a plurality of separate release liners secured to the rear surface and associated with the stretchable spans. 24 . The labeling article of claim 21 , wherein the plurality of bands comprise two bands. 25 . The labeling article of claim 24 , wherein the plurality of bands consist of two bands. 26 . The labeling article of claim 21 , wherein the front surface comprises indicia. 27 . The labeling article of claim 21 , wherein the stretchable spans of the plurality of bands extend substantially parallel to each other. 28 . A method of affixing a labeling article to one or more items, the method comprising: pulling a plurality of stretchable bands from a sheet portion of the labeling article to form a plurality of loops, wherein each of the plurality of stretchable bands comprises a stretchable span extending between a pair of ends that are bonded to the sheet portion, and wherein the plurality of stretchable bands are separate from each other, wherein forming the plurality of loops further comprises separating the stretchable spans from one or more release liners disposed between the stretchable spans and the sheet portion; inserting one or more portions of the item through the formed loops; and releasing the stretchable spans of the plurality of stretchable bands such that the released stretchable spans contract back to extents possible as allowed by the one or more items disposed between the stretchable spans and the sheet portion. 29 . The method of claim 28 , wherein forming the plurality of loops comprises stretching the stretchable spans from relaxed states to stretched states. 30 . The method of claim 28 , wherein the stretchable bands are bonded to a rear surface of the sheet portion, and further comprising displaying indicia on a front surface of the sheet portion. 31 . A method for manufacturing a plurality of labeling articles, the method comprising: moving a web of a label material in a first direction; forming a plurality of segments of a release liner material on the moving web, wherein the segments of the release liner material are separated by gaps; forming a plurality of separate continuous bands of an elastic material over the plurality of segments and gaps; bonding each continuous band to the moving web at the gaps to form bond zones; and forming lines of separation in a direction that is orthogonal to the first direction such that the formed lines of separation intersect the bond zones, thereby defining the plurality of labeling articles, wherein each of the defined labeling articles extends across at least one of the plurality of segments and portions of each of the formed continuous bands. 32 . The method of claim 31 , wherein the web comprises a first major surface and a second opposing major surface, wherein the plurality of segments are formed on the first major surface, and wherein the method further comprises printing indicia on the second major surface. 33 . The method of claim 32 wherein the plurality of segments of the release liner material are formed as a plurality of stripes, each stripe corresponding to a respective continuous bands of elastic material. 34 . The method of claim 33 , wherein forming the plurality of stripes comprises forming two stripes. 35 . The method of claim 33 , wherein a combined surface area of the formed stripes is less than about 50% of a surface area of the web. 36 . The method of claim 33 , wherein a combined surface area of the formed stripes is less than about 25% of a surface area of the web. 37 . The method of claim 33 , wherein forming lines of separation comprises perforating the web. 38 . The method of claim 33 , wherein forming lines of separation comprises die-cutting the web. 39 . The method of claim 31 , wherein bonding each continuous band to the web at the gaps comprises using adhesive. 40 . The method of claim 31 , wherein forming a plurality of separate continuous bands of an elastic material comprises depositing molten elastic material onto the plurality of segments and gaps.
