An application platform configurable for collecting user data associated with a plurality of retail-branded credit cards is provided. The application platform includes a configurable front end comprising a graphical user interface layer that is configurable to a specific one of the plurality of retail-branded credit cards, a backend layer comprising credit card functionality for directly performing credit card transactions associated with a specific one of the plurality of retail-branded credit cards, a data collection layer comprising a data collector for collecting user data associated with the plurality of retail-branded credit cards and an analytics engine coupled with the data collection layer for determining one or more attribute about a user from the user data associated with the plurality of retail-branded credit cards.

An application platform configurable for collecting user data associated with a plurality of retail-branded credit cards comprising: a configurable front end comprising a graphical user interface layer that is configurable to a specific one of said plurality of retail-branded credit cards; a backend layer comprising credit card functionality for directly performing credit card transactions associated with said specific one of said plurality of retail-branded credit cards; a data collection layer comprising a data collector for collecting said user data associated with said plurality of retail-branded credit cards; and an analytics engine coupled with the data collection layer for determining one or more buyer attribute about a user from said user data associated with said plurality of retail-branded credit cards. 2 . The application platform of claim 1 wherein said backend for directly performing credit card transactions associated with all of said plurality of retail-branded credit cards and wherein said data collection layer collects information associated with said credit card transactions. 3 . The application platform of claim 1 further comprising: a downloadable portion for installation on a device associated with a user, wherein said downloadable portion can be used directly for approving credit issuance to said user and wherein said downloadable portion includes functionality for providing user information to said data collection layer. 4 . The application platform of claim 1 further comprising: a downloadable portion for installation on a device associated with a user, wherein said downloadable portion can be used directly for creating a credit account for said user and wherein said downloadable portion provides said user customized offers based on collected user information. 5 . The application platform of claim 1 further comprising: a downloadable portion for installation on a device associated with a user, wherein said downloadable portion can be used directly for using earned credit card rewards points associated with said user and wherein said downloadable portion provides said user customized offers based on said earned credit card rewards points. 6 . The application platform of claim 1 further comprising: a downloadable portion for installation on a device associated with a user, wherein said downloadable portion can be used directly for buying items at a store associated with said specific one of said plurality of retail-branded credit cards and wherein said downloadable portion provides said user customized offers when said user is physically at said store. 7 . The application platform of claim 1 further comprising: a downloadable portion for installation on a device associated with a user, wherein said downloadable portion can be used directly for receiving promotions associated with said specific one of said plurality of retail-branded credit cards. 8 . A method for collecting user information associated with a co-branded virtual card, the method comprising: receiving a customer application for a co-branded credit card at a time of purchase; performing a customer qualification for the co-branded credit card at the time of purchase; providing access to a virtual co-branded card for a qualified customer, said virtual co-branded card having a valid credit card number, a valid credit card expiration date and a valid credit card security code; authorizing the use of the virtual co-branded card to buy goods at the time of qualification; collecting said user information associated with said virtual co-branded card; and determining one or more buyer attribute about a user from said user data associated with said virtual co-branded card. 9 . The method of claim 8 wherein said virtual co-branded card is not associated with a primary account number tied to said qualified customer. 10 . The method of claim 8 wherein said virtual co-branded card conforms to a payment card industry (PCI) standard. 11 . The method of claim 8 further comprising: automatically preventing purchases using said virtual co-branded card after a predetermined period of time. 12 . The method of claim 8 further comprising: limiting purchase amounts to a predetermined amount. 13 . The method of claim 8 further comprising: issuing a physical credit card associated with a primary account number of said qualified customer; and preventing access to said virtual co-branded card. 14 . The method of claim 8 further comprising: preventing said qualified customer form accessing said valid credit card number, said valid credit card expiration date and said valid credit card security code of said virtual co-branded card. 15 . The method of claim 8 further comprising: providing said customer customized offers based on said user information. 16 . A method for collecting user data associated with a co-branded virtual card, the method comprising: qualifying a customer for a co-branded credit card; providing access to a virtual co-branded card for said customer to use, said virtual co-branded card not associated with a primary account number associated with said customer and having a valid credit card number, a valid credit card expiration date and a valid credit card security code; processing a credit-based transaction using the virtual co-branded card at the time of qualification; collecting said user data associated with said virtual co-branded card; and determining one or more buyer attribute about a user from said user data associated with said virtual co-branded card. 17 . The method of claim 16 wherein said virtual co-branded card conforms to a payment card industry (PCI) standard. 18 . The method of claim 16 further comprising: allowing purchases using said virtual co-branded card for a predetermined period of time. 19 . A system for collecting user data associated with credit-based payment processing comprising: a credit application receiver for receiving a customer application for a co-branded credit card at a time of purchase and for performing a customer qualification for the co-branded credit card at the time of purchase; a credit card generator for providing access to a virtual co-branded card for a qualified customer, said virtual co-branded card having a valid credit card number, a valid credit card expiration date and a valid credit card security code; a payment authorizer for authorizing the use of the virtual co-branded card to buy goods at the time of qualification; a data collection layer comprising a data collector for collecting said user data associated with said plurality of retail-branded credit cards; and an analytics engine coupled with the data collection layer for determining one or more attribute about a user from said user data associated with said plurality of retail-branded credit cards. 20 . The system of claim 19 wherein said virtual co-branded card is not associated with a primary account number tied to said qualified customer. 21 . The system of claim 19 wherein said virtual co-branded card conforms to a payment card industry (PCI) standard.
