1 . An air filter cartridge comprising: (a) a filter media pack having first and second, opposite, flow faces and comprising fluted media secured to facing media to define inlet and outlet flow channels extending in a direction between the first and second, opposite, flow faces; (i) the filter media pack being closed to passage of air therethrough, from one flow face to an opposite flow face, without filtering passage through the media; and, (ii) the media pack having a shape with: a first cross-dimension perpendicular to a direction between the first and second, opposite, flow faces; and, a second cross-dimension, perpendicular to a direction between the first and second, opposite, flow faces and also perpendicular to the first cross-dimension; the first cross-dimension being longer than the second cross-dimension; and, (b) a housing seal arrangement comprising a perimeter seal extending around the media pack; (i) the housing seal arrangement including a pinch seal; (ii) the pinch seal having a first end, seal, surface in complete extension around the media pack; (A) the first end, seal, surface being an end surface facing generally in the same direction as one of the first flow face and second flow face; and, (B) the housing seal arrangement being configured such that a portion of the first end, seal, surface, in extension in a direction corresponding to the first cross-dimension, varies in distance from the second flow face, in at least selected locations. 2 . An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the filter media pack comprises a stack of strips of fluted media secured to facing media. 3 . An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the first end, seal, surface extends at an angle, Y, relative to the outlet face of the filter cartridge of at least 5°. 4 . An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the filter media pack is a blocked, stacked, arrangement wherein each face and side of the media pack intersects each adjacent face and side at 90°. 5 . An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the filter media pack has a first pair of opposite sides; and, (b) the first end, seal, surface is straight, and includes portions that do not vary in distance from the second flow face, in a direction of extension across each one of the first pair of opposite sides. 6 . An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the housing seal arrangement comprises the pinch seal flange and a seal base; (i) the pinch seal flange and seal base defining a receiving trough between a portion of the pinch seal flange and the media pack. 7 . An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the filter media pack includes a first pair of opposite sides each of which is covered by a molded-in-place panel. 8 . An air filter cartridge according to claim 1 wherein: (a) the filter media pack includes a first pair of opposite sides, each of which is covered by a sheet of material. 9 . An air filter cartridge comprising: (a) a filter media pack having first and second, opposite, flow ends; (i) the filter media pack being closed to passage of air therethrough, from one flow end to an opposite flow end, without filtering passage through the media; and, (ii) the media pack having a shape with: a first cross-dimension perpendicular to a direction between the first and second, opposite, flow faces; and, a second cross-dimension, perpendicular to a direction between the first and second, opposite, flow faces and also perpendicular to the first cross-dimension; the first cross-dimension being longer than the second cross-dimension; and, (b) a housing seal arrangement comprising a perimeter seal extending around the media pack; (i) the housing seal arrangement including a pinch seal flange; (A) the pinch seal flange being positioned on, and molded integral with, the base; and, (B) the housing seal arrangement defining a trough between at least a portion of the pinch seal flange and the media pack; and, (ii) the pinch seal flange having a first end, seal, surface in complete extension around the media pack; (A) the first end surface being an end surface facing generally in the same direction as one of the first flow face and second flow face; (B) the housing seal arrangement being configured such that a portion of the first end, seal, surface, in extension in a direction corresponding to the first cross-dimension, varies in distance from the second flow face, in at least selected locations; and, (C) the first end, seal, surface being spaced from the second flow face, toward the first flow face, in complete extension around the media. 10 . An air filter cartridge according to claim 9 wherein: (a) the filter media pack comprises a stack of strips of fluted media secured to facing media. 11 . (canceled) 12 . An air filter cartridge according to claim 10 wherein: (a) the filter media pack is a blocked, stacked, arrangement wherein each face and side of the media pack intersects each adjacent face and side at 90°. 13 - 17 . (canceled) 18 . An air filter cartridge comprising: (a) a filter media pack having first and second, opposite, flow faces and comprising media defining opposite, flow ends; (i) the filter media pack being closed to passage of air therethrough, from one flow end to an opposite flow end, without filtering passage through the media; and, (ii) the media pack having an outer side periphery; (b) a protective covering over at least a portion of the media pack outer periphery; and, (c) a housing seal arrangement comprising a perimeter seal extending around the media pack; (i) the housing seal arrangement being molded-in-place to, and in extension across, at least a portion of the media pack; and, also, to, and in extension across, the covering; (A) the housing seal arrangement including a pinch seal flange; and, (B) at least a portion of the pinch seal arrangement being molded directly to the media; (d) the pinch seal flange having a first end surface in complete extension around the media pack; (A) the first end surface being an end seal surface facing generally in the same direction as one of the first flow end and second flow end; and, (B) the housing seal arrangement being configured such that the first end seal surface varies in distance from the second flow end, in at least selected locations, as the end seal surface extends around the filter media pack; and, (C) the end surface being spaced from the second flow face, toward the first flow face, in complete extension around the media. 19 .
