Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

A cable manager includes a trough, defining a footprint, and a door. At least one side of the trough is formed from a plurality of finger-like projections extending forwardly from a support member. At least two of the projections include a hinge boss disposed at an outer end thereof and extending inwardly. At least one edge of the door has a hinge structure disposed therealong that includes an outer arm and an inner arm defining a hinge channel therebetween. The hinge bosses are disposed within the hinge channel such that the door is rotatably attached along at least one of its longitudinal edges to the trough. The door is rotatable to an open state without extending beyond the footprint of the trough.

1 .- 56 . (canceled) 57 . A mounting fixture system, comprising: an electronic equipment rack; and at least one cable manager mounted on the electronic equipment rack, the at least one cable manager comprising a trough, defining a footprint, and a door rotatably attached along at least one of its longitudinal edges to the trough; wherein the door is rotatable to a fully open state without extending beyond the footprint of the trough. 58 . The mounting fixture system of claim 57 , wherein at least one side of the trough is formed from a plurality of finger-like projections extending forwardly from a support member. 59 . The mounting fixture system of claim 58 , wherein the finger-like projections have a generally U-shaped cross-sectional shape. 60 . The mounting fixture system of claim 59 , wherein at least one of the finger-like projections includes at least one crescent-shaped reinforcement wall. 61 . The mounting fixture system of claim 57 , wherein at least one edge of the door has a hinge structure disposed therealong for rotatable attachment to the trough. 62 . The mounting fixture system of claim 62 , further comprising an indexing stop on the hinge structure for retaining the door in an open state. 63 . A mounting fixture system, comprising: an electronic equipment rack; and a plurality of side cable guides each including a plurality of finger-like projections and a support member, wherein the finger-like projections are arranged to extend orthogonally from the support member such that each side cable guide has a generally L-shaped cross-sectional shape; wherein the plurality of side cable guides includes a first subset of side cable guides and a second subset of side cable guides, whereby the support member of each side cable guide of the first subset has a first length and the support member of each side cable guide of the second subset has a second length, the first length being greater than the second length; and wherein any selected one of the plurality of side cable guides is interchangeably pairable with any other selected one of the plurality of side cable guides, with the respective support members of the selected side cable guides positioned to extend toward one another and the respective pluralities of finger-like projections extending in the same direction, in order to form a cable manager mountable to the electronic equipment rack and having a generally U-shaped cross-sectional shape. 64 . The mounting fixture system of claim 63 , wherein pairing a first side cable guide, selected from the first subset, with a second side cable guide, selected from the first subset, forms a cable manager having a trough distance between the respective pluralities of finger-like projections of the first and second side cable guides that measures approximately 3 RMUs. 65 . The mounting fixture system of claim 63 , wherein pairing a first side cable guide, selected from the first subset, with a second side cable guide, selected from the second subset, forms a cable manager having a trough distance between the respective pluralities of finger-like projections of the first and second side cable guides that measures approximately 2 RMUs. 66 . The mounting fixture system of claim 63 , wherein pairing a first side cable guide, selected from the second subset, with a second side cable guide, selected from the second subset, forms a cable manager having a trough distance between the respective pluralities of finger-like projections of the first and second side cable guides that measures approximately 1 RMU. 67 . The mounting fixture system of claim 63 , wherein: pairing a first side cable guide, selected from the first subset, with a second side cable guide, selected from the first subset, forms a first cable manager having a first trough distance between the respective pluralities of finger-like projections of the first and second side cable guides; pairing a third side cable guide, selected from the first subset, with a fourth side cable guide, selected from the second subset, forms a second cable manager having a second trough distance between the respective pluralities of finger-like projections of the third and fourth side cable guides; pairing a fifth side cable guide, selected from the second subset, with a sixth side cable guide, selected from the second subset, forms a third cable manager having a third trough distance between the respective pluralities of finger-like projections of the fifth and sixth side cable guides; and the second trough distance is greater than the third trough distance and less than the first trough distance. 68 . The mounting fixture system of claim 67 , wherein: the first trough distance measures approximately 3 RMUs; the second trough distance measures approximately 2 RMUs; and the third trough distance measures approximately 1 RMU. 69 . The mounting fixture system of claim 63 , wherein the finger-like projections have a generally U-shaped cross-sectional shape. 70 . The mounting fixture system of claim 63 , wherein adjacent finger-like projections are spaced apart from one another by approximately 1 RMU. 71 . A mounting fixture system, comprising: an electronic equipment rack; and a cable manager mounted to the electronic equipment rack, the cable manager including separate first and second pairable members, each being generally L-shaped and having a side portion and a connecting portion extending orthogonally away from the respective side portion, whereby distal ends of the connecting portions of the first and second pairable members engage one another to form a base portion of the cable manager; wherein a width of the base portion defines a distance between the side portions of the first and second pairable members; and wherein the width of the base portion is adjustable by replacing the first pairable member with a replacement pairable member, the replacement pairable member being generally L-shaped and having a side portion and a connecting portion extending orthogonally away from the respective side portion, the connecting portion of the replacement pairable member extending away from the respective side portion by a distance that is longer or shorter than that of the connecting portion of the first pairable member. 72 . The mounting fixture system of claim 71 , wherein the width of the base portion is adjustable between approximately 1 RMU and approximately 3 RMUs. 73 . The mounting fixture system of claim 71 , wherein the side portions of the first, second and replacement pairable members are each formed of a plurality of finger-like projections. 74 . The mounting fixture system of claim 73 , wherein the finger-like projections have a generally U-shaped cross-sectional shape. 75 . The mounting fixture system of claim 73 , wherein adjacent finger-like projections are spaced apart from one another by approximately 1 RMU.
