Official abstract text for this publication.
A multiple-fire securing device includes a hollow outer shaft, a reloader, a reloader movement assembly, a rail, and securing structures each defining an inner securing orifice. The reloader longitudinally moves within the outer shaft and has a distal end shaped to temporarily contact one of the securing structures. The rail is disposed within the reloader and has an installing location. The securing structures are disposed on the rail. The reloader movement assembly moves the reloader longitudinally in a distal direction to deliver a first securing structure to the installing location from a first proximal position and moves the reloader proximally away from the installing location without the first securing structure to a position in which the distal end of the reloader temporarily contacts a second one of the securing structures. The second and successive securing structures are moved one at a time to the installing location.

1 . A multiple-fire securing device, comprising: a plurality of securing structures each defining an inner securing orifice; a hollow outer shaft; a reloader: longitudinally movable within the outer shaft; and having a distal end shaped to temporarily contact one of the securing structures; a rail disposed within the reloader and on which the plurality of securing structures are disposed, the rail having an installing location; and a reloader movement assembly: moving the reloader longitudinally in a distal direction to deliver a first securing structure to the installing location from a first proximal position; and moving the reloader proximally away from the installing location without the first securing structure to a position in which the distal end of the reloader temporarily contacts a second one of the securing structures. 2 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the inner clipping orifice is an H-shaped orifice. 3 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the rail has an H-shape cross-section. 4 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the rail has a rectangular cross-section. 5 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the reloader movement assembly moves the reloader longitudinally further in the distal direction to remove the first securing structure from the installing location and off of the rail before moving the reloader proximally away from the installing location to the second securing structure. 6 . The device according to claim 5 , wherein, when at least one cord to be secured is disposed through the inner securing orifice of the first securing structure, removal of the first securing structure from the rail causes the first securing structure to secure the at least one cord within the inner securing orifice of the first securing structure. 7 . The device according to claim 5 , wherein, after the reloader contacts the second securing structure, the reloader movement assembly moves the reloader longitudinally in the distal direction to deliver the second securing structure distally along the rail to the installing location. 8 . The device according to claim 7 , wherein, when at least one cord to be secured is disposed through the inner securing orifice of the second securing structure, removal of the second securing structure from the rail causes the second securing structure to secure the cord within the inner securing orifice of the second securing structure. 9 . The device according to claim 1 , further comprising a snare assembly: having a snare shaped to pass distally through the inner securing orifice of one of the securing structures at the installing location and, when therethrough, to secure at least one cord temporarily; placing the snare through the first securing structure to a snare position in which the at least one cord can be threaded through the snare; and moving a portion of the at least one cord secured in the snare proximally through the first securing structure to present at least some of the portion of the at least one cord to a user. 10 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the reloader comprises a hollow inner shaft movably disposed within the outer shaft. 11 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the reloader has distal fingers extending distally to define opposing structure-grasping slots shaped to temporarily grasp the one of the securing structures. 12 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the rail is shaped to slidably receive thereon the plurality of securing structures. 13 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the reloader movement assembly automatically carries out the steps of moving distally to deliver the first securing structure to the installing location and then moving proximally away from the installing location to temporarily contact the second securing structure for securement after the first securing structure has been secured. 14 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein the reloader movement assembly causes the reloader to slide the first securing structure along the rail to deliver the first securing structure to the installing location. 15 . The device according to claim 9 , wherein: the outer shaft has a lateral opening; and the snare assembly: places the snare through the first securing structure past the installing location and out the distal end of the outer shaft to a snare position in which the at least one cord can be threaded through the snare; and moves proximally to pull the portion of the at least one cord secured in the snare proximally through the first securing structure and out a side of the outer shaft through the lateral opening and to present at least some of the portion of the at least one cord out through the lateral opening to be accessed by a user.
