An optical component includes: a base material; and a titanium oxide layer composed mainly of titanium oxide and containing at least one element selected from the group consisting of Nb, Si, Zr, Ta, Al, and Hf as an accessory component. The content of the accessory component in the titanium oxide layer is preferably 0.01 mass or more and 1.0 mass % or less.

What is claimed is: 1 . An optical component comprising: a base material; and a titanium oxide layer composed mainly of titanium oxide and containing at least one element selected from the group consisting of Nb, Si, Zr, Ta, Al, and Hf as an accessory component. 2 . The optical component according to claim 1 , wherein the element as the accessory component is an element which constitutes a composite oxide with titanium. 3 . The optical component according to claim 1 , wherein the content of the accessory component in the titanium oxide layer is 0.01 mass % or more and 1.0 mass % or less. 4 . The optical component according to claim 1 , wherein the thickness of the titanium oxide layer is 5 nm or more and 30 nm or less. 5 . The optical component according to claim 1 , wherein the base material is composed of a material containing at least one member selected from the group consisting of a silicate glass, a sapphire glass, and a plastic. 6 . The optical component according to claim 1 , wherein the optical component is a cover glass for a timepiece. 7 . A timepiece comprising the optical component according to claim 1 . 8 . A timepiece comprising the optical component according to claim 2 . 9 . A timepiece comprising the optical component according to claim 3 . 10 .
