Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Content creation and deployment collaboration techniques are described. In one or more implementations, metadata that describes the creation of the content may be associated with the content. The content may then be provided from a content creation service to a content deployment service for deployment as part of a marketing activity. Deployment data obtained from this tracking may be utilized to support a variety of functionality, such as by content creators to determine which of their content has been successfully employed as part of marketing activities, marketers may also use knowledge of the deployment of the content to choose content to be included in a marketing activity as well as select content creators that are best suited to provide this content, used to configure badges, by retailers and manufacturers, and so forth.

What is claimed is: 1 . In a digital medium environment for creating a marketing activity, where the marketing activity involves creation of content as part of the marketing activity, a system to create the content comprising one or more modules implemented at least partially in hardware, the one or more modules configured to perform operations comprising: monitoring interaction of one or more users with content available via a shared network resource; collecting comments and markups made in association with the content as part of the monitored interaction; and exposing a user interface for display that includes: the content and the markups in which at least one of the markups is disposed over a display of the content; and an activity stream that includes the collected comments. 2 . A system as described in claim 1 , wherein at least one comment corresponds to and is visibly associated with a respective one of the markups. 3 . A system as described in claim 1 , wherein the activity stream includes indications of users that provided respective said comments. 4 . A system as described in claim 1 , wherein access to the shared network resource is managed by a managing user of the shared network resource and access is granted to the shared network resource to at least one other said user by the managing user. 5 . A system as described in claim 4 , wherein the access is granted as part of a workflow initiated by the managing user to create the content, the workflow including one or more tasks that are specified through interaction with the activity stream. 6 . A system as described in claim 5 , wherein the workflow involves a marketing activity, the content is an image to be included in the marketing activity, and the at least one other said user is given access to the shared network resource in association with a content creation service that is accessible via a network. 7 . A system as described in claim 6 , wherein the content creation service exposes a plurality of different image editing operations that are accessible to the at least one other said user to create the content. 8 . A system as described in claim 6 , wherein the marketing activity is configured to include the content as a banner ad, link, webpage, online video, email, or message. 9 . A system as described in claim 6 , wherein the managing user: gives the access to the shared network resource as an invitation to the at least one other said user to create the content for the marketing activity; and retains control of the content available via the shared network resource after access by the least one other said user to the shared network resource is revoked. 10 . A system as described in claim 1 , further comprising maintaining a plurality of versions of the content as part of the shared network resource, each of the plurality of versions being associated with a corresponding change made to the content. 11 . A system as described in claim 1 , wherein the exposing is performed in real time. 12 . A system as described in claim 1 , further comprising automatically converting the content to be exposed in the user interface to include watermarking, digital rights management, or generated thumbnails. 13 . In a digital medium environment for creating a marketing activity, where the marketing activity involves creation of content as part of the marketing activity, a method comprising: controlling display of a user interface by one or more computing devices, the user interface including a display of content available via a shared network resource to a plurality of users and an activity stream that includes comments associated with markups displayed as an overlay over the content, the activity stream including tasks involving creation of the content that are to be performed by respective said users; and updating the activity stream and the content in real time by the one or more computing devices in response to performance of the tasks or receipt of additional comments and associated markups. 14 . A method as described in claim 13 , wherein access to the shared network resource is granted as part of a workflow initiated by a managing one of the plurality of users to create the content, the workflow including the tasks that are specified through interaction with the activity stream. 15 . A method as described in claim 14 , wherein the workflow involves a marketing activity, the content is an image to be included in the marketing activity, and the at least one other said user is given access to the shared network resource in association with a content creation service that is accessible via a network. 16 . A method as described in claim 15 , wherein the content creation service exposed a plurality of different image editing operations that are accessible to the at least one other said user to create the content. 17 . In a digital medium environment for creating and deploying a marketing activity, where the marketing activity involves creation and deployment of content as part of the marketing activity, a system to create and deploy the content comprising: a content creation service implemented by one or more computing devices, the content creation service being accessible via a network to a plurality of users and configured to expose a plurality of image editing operations that are configured to create content; and a content deployment service implemented by one or more computing devices and accessible via a network, the content deployment service configured to expose: a shared network resource as part of a workflow that is accessible via invitation to a plurality of users of the content creation service to create an item of content; and a user interface having a display of content available via the shared network resource to the plurality of users and an activity stream that includes comments associated with annotations displayed as an overlay over the content, the activity stream including tasks involving creation of the content that are to be performed by respective said users through interaction with the content creation service as part of the workflow. 18 . A system as described in claim 17 , wherein the workflow specifies tasks that are to be performed in creation of the item of content as part of a marketing activity. 19 . A system as described in claim 17 , wherein the content deployment service is configured to perform operations comprising: aggregating data describing tracked deployment of a plurality of marketing activities and content included as part of respective ones of the plurality of marketing activities to a plurality of potential consumers; and exposing a user interface for display via the content creation service as a suggestion in the creation of the item of content, by indicating: similarity of metadata, one to another, that describes creation of the content; and correspondence of the similar metadata with the tracked deployment of the plurality of marketing activities described by the aggregated data. 20 . A system as described in claim 19 , wherein the metadata describes characteristics of: a device used to create the content, the characteristics including device type, flash usage, focal length, aperture value, exposure, time, zoom level, digital versus analog zoom, lens type, or device identifier; the content including identification of one or more objects in the content or scene classification; environmental conditions of a scene in which the content is captured, the environmental con
