Abstract

Official abstract text for this publication.

Automatically communicating information related to a user computing device from a central computing system to a transaction computing system prior to initiation of a transaction between the user computing device and the transaction computing system comprises a digital wallet application and a central computing system. A digital wallet application receives a beacon signal from a transaction computing system indicating the specific identification of the terminal with which the user intends to conduct a transaction. The user computing device communicates the terminal identification to the central computing system. The central computing system communicates customer data, such as loyalty information and offers, to the transaction computing system associated with the terminal. The transaction computing system communicates the customer data to the terminal. When the user taps the user computing device to initiate the transaction, the terminal provides any benefits associated with the customer data.

What is claimed is: 1 . A computer-implemented method to automatically communicate information related to a user computing device from a central computing system to a transaction computing system prior to initiation of a transaction between the user computing device and the transaction computing system, comprising: communicating, using one or more computing devices of a transaction computing system, a beacon signal comprising at least an identification of the one or more computing devices of the transaction computing system; receiving, using the one or more computing devices of the transaction computing system and from a digital wallet computing system, a notification of a communication between a user computing device and the digital wallet computing system, the notification comprising a set of user data to be applied to a subsequent transaction between the one or more computing devices of the transaction computing system and the user computing device, the notification received from the digital wallet computing system having been based on the identification of the one or more computing devices of the transaction computing system communicated in the beacon signal and received by the user computing device and communicated to the digital wallet computing system by the user computing device, the set of user data comprising a user identification associated with the user computing device; receiving, using the one or more computing devices of the transaction computing system, a notification from the user computing device to conduct a pending transaction; receiving, using the one or more computing devices of the transaction computing system from a communication with the user computing device, the user identification; and applying, using the one or more computing devices of the transaction computing system, the set of user data to the pending transaction based on a match between the user identification provided to the one or more computing devices of the transaction computing system by the digital wallet computing system and the user identification provided to the one or more computing devices of the transaction computing system by the user computing device. 2 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising communicating, using the one or more computing devices of the transaction computing system, a request for authorization of the pending transaction to the digital wallet computing system. 3 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , further comprising: receiving, using the one or more computing devices of the transaction computing system, an identification for a payment instrument from the user computing device; and requesting, using the one or more computing devices of the transaction computing system, an authorization for the pending transaction from a payment processing system associated with the payment instrument. 4 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the beacon signal is transmitted via Bluetooth or near field communication. 5 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the beacon signal comprises a location of the one or more computing devices at a merchant system. 6 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the identification of the one or more computing devices of the transaction computing system is received by the digital wallet computing system from the user computing device. 7 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the set of user data comprises loyalty account data. 8 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the set of user data comprises one or more offers. 9 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein applying the set of user data to the pending transaction comprises adjusting, using the one or more computing devices of the transaction computing system, the pending transaction data based on the set of user data. 10 . The computer-implemented method of claim 9 , wherein the user identification is received from a near field communication with the user computing device. 11 . A computer program product, comprising: a non-transitory computer-readable storage device having computer-executable program instructions embodied thereon that when executed by a computer cause the computer to automatically communicate information related to a transaction computing system to a central computing system to cause a communication of user information to the transaction computing system, the computer-executable program instructions comprising: computer-executable program instructions to receive a customer identification from a digital wallet system hosting a customer account; computer-executable program instructions to receive a beacon from a point of sale terminal associated with a merchant system; computer-executable program instructions to extract an identification of the point of sale terminal from the beacon; computer-executable program instructions to communicate the identification of the point of sale terminal and the customer identification to the digital wallet system; computer-executable program instructions to initiate a wireless communication with the point of sale terminal; computer-executable program instructions to provide the customer identification to the point of sale terminal; and computer-executable program instructions to receive a notification that transaction data for a transaction with the point of sale terminal is adjusted based on a set of data received by the point of sale terminal from the digital wallet system. 12 . The computer program product of claim 11 , wherein the beacon signal is transmitted via Bluetooth or near field communication. 13 . The computer program product of claim 11 , wherein the beacon signal comprises a location of the one or more computing devices at a merchant system. 14 . The computer program product of claim 11 , wherein the set of user data comprises one or more offers or loyalty data associated with the user. 15 . A system to select payment accounts to transmit customer data to point of sale terminals, comprising: a storage resource; and a processor communicatively coupled to the storage resource, wherein the processor executes application code instructions that are stored in the storage resource to cause the processor to: configure a customer identification associated with a digital wallet account; receive a communication from a user computing device, the communication comprising the customer identification and an identification of a point of sale terminal associated with a merchant system; identify a set of user data associated with the digital wallet account, the set of user data comprising loyalty data and one or more offers; communicate, to the merchant system, the set of user data. 16 . The system of claim 15 , further comprising application code instructions to receive a request for an authorization of a pending transaction, the transaction being adjusted based on the set of user data. 17 . The system of claim 15 , further comprising application code instructions to update the digital wallet account based on a set of data associated with the transaction. 18 . The system of claim 17 , further comprising application code instructions to record a loyalty instance based on the transaction at the merchant system. 19 . The system of claim 17 , wherein the digital wallet account is updated with offer data. 20 . The system of claim 15 , wherein the set of user data is communicated to a server associated with the me
