1 . A pad for cleaning a hard surface, said pad comprising: A formed film, nonwoven or tissue topsheet, said topsheet having a plurality of respective, discrete formed film, nonwoven or tissue protuberances extending outwardly from respective discrete proximal ends disposed on a continuous background to respective distal ends remote therefrom, said protuberances having a protuberance free height of about 2.5+/−0.3 mm, and an uncompressed height at 1.65kpa of 0.65+/−0.2 mm; and a backsheet joined to said topsheet in face to face relationship to form a laminate, said pad being removably attachable to a cleaning implement by releasable contact with the backsheet to the deivce. 2 . A pad according to claim 1 wherein said protuberances have a protuberance free height of about 2.5+/−0.1 mm. 3 . A pad according to claim 2 wherein said protuberances have an uncompressed height at 1.65 kpa of 0.65+/−0.1 mm. 4 . A pad according to claim 1 wherein said protuberances have a first compressed height at 4.14 kpa of 0.65+/−0.1 mm. 5 . A pad according to claim 1 wherein said backsheet comprises an absorbent material. 6 . A pad according to claim 5 wherein said backsheet comprises a discrete aperture nonwoven material. 7 . A pad according to claim 2 having a 24 mm peel face force of 100 g to 400 g. 8 . A pad according to claim 7 having a 24 mm peel face force of 150 g to 350 g. 9 . A pad for cleaning a hard surface, said pad comprising: a pervious nonwoven or tissue topsheet, said topsheet having a plurality of discrete plastically deformed respective nonwoven or tissue protuberances extending outwardly from respective discrete proximal ends disposed on a continuous background to respective distal ends remote therefrom, said protuberances having a protuberance free height of about 2.5+/−0.3 mm, an uncompressed height at 1.65kpa of 0.65+/−0.2 mm, and a resiliency within the range of 20 to 45 percent; and an impervious backsheet, removably disposable on a cleaning implement; and a core interposed between said impervious backsheet and said pervious topsheet, said topsheet, said core and said backsheet being disposed in face to face relationship to form a laminate. 10 . A pad according to claim 9 wherein said protuberances have an uncompressed height at 1.65 kpa of 0.65+/−1 mm. 11 . A pad according to claim 10 wherein said protuberances have a first compressed height at 4.14 kpa of 0.65+/−0.1 mm. 12 . A pad according to claim 10 having two opposed longitudinal edges, and two opposed end edges, said end edges being rounded. 13 . A pad according to claim 9 wherein said protuberances further comprise formed film. 14 . A pad for cleaning a hard surface, said pad comprising: a pervious formed film, nonwoven or tissue topsheet, said topsheet having a plurality of discrete respective formed film, nonwoven or tissue protuberances extending outwardly from respective discrete proximal ends disposed on a continuous background to respective distal ends remote therefrom, said protuberances having a protuberance free height of about 2.5+/−0.3 mm, an uncompressed height at 1.65kpa of 0.65+/−0.2 mm, and a resiliency within the range of 20 to 45 percent a first compressed height at 4.14 kpa of 0.65+/−0.1 mm; and an impervious backsheet, removably disposable on a cleaning implement; and an absorbent core interposed between said impervious backsheet and said pervious topsheet, said topsheet, said core and said backsheet being disposed in face to face relationship to form a laminate. 15 . A pad according to claim 9 wherein said protuberances cover only a portion of said topsheet. 16 . A pad according to claim 9 wherein said protuberances cover said entire topsheet. 17 . A pad according to claim 1 wherein said protuberances cover only a portion of said topsheet. 18 . A pad according to claim 1 wherein said protuberances cover said entire topsheet. 19 . A pad according to claim 17 wherein said topsheet has a long dimension and said protuberances extend through said long dimension of said topsheet. 20 . A pad according to claim 19 wherein said protuberances are bilaterally staggered.
