Official abstract text for this publication.
A dual display communication device includes a gesture capture region to receive a gesture, a first touch sensitive display to receive a gesture and display displayed images (such as a desktop or window of an application), and a second touch sensitive display to receive a gesture and display displayed images. Middleware receives a gesture, the gesture indicating that a displayed image is to be moved from the first touch sensitive display to the second touch sensitive display, such as to maximize a window to cover portions of both displays simultaneously; in response and prior to movement of the displayed image to the second touch sensitive display, moves a transition indicator from the first touch sensitive display to the second touch sensitive display to a selected position to be occupied by the displayed image; and thereafter moves the displayed image from the first touch sensitive display to the second touch sensitive display to the selected position.

1 - 21 . (canceled) 22 . A method, comprising: providing a multi-screen device including: a first screen, the first screen including: a first touch sensitive display; a first gesture capture region, wherein the first gesture capture region is physically separate from the first touch sensitive display on the first screen, and wherein the first gesture capture region does not provide a display; a second screen connected to the first screen by a hinge, the second screen including: a second touch sensitive display; a second gesture capture region, wherein the second gesture capture region is physically separate from the second touch sensitive display on the second screen, and wherein the second gesture capture region does not provide a display; receiving, by the first gesture capture region, a drag gesture, the drag gesture indicating that a window is to be moved from a first touch sensitive display to a second touch sensitive display, wherein the window is displaying active content for an application; and in response and prior to movement of the window to the second touch sensitive display: displaying, by a microprocessor, a movement of at least a portion of a transition indicator from the first touch sensitive display to the second touch sensitive display, wherein the transition indicator is displayed as moving at substantially a same rate as a rate of movement for the drag gesture, wherein the transition indicator is a static image, and wherein the transition indicator is a same size and same shape to the window; while displaying the movement of at least the portion of the transition indicator from the first touch sensitive display to the second touch sensitive display, continuing to display the active content of the window on the first touch sensitive display; and upon display of the transition indicator reaching a predetermined point on the second touch sensitive screen, animating, by the microprocessor, movement of the window from the first touch sensitive display to the second touch sensitive display in response to movement of the drag gesture. 23 . The method of claim 22 , wherein the transition indicator moves along a path of travel of the window to the selected position to preview movement of the window. 24 . The method of claim 22 , wherein the transition indicator is unable to receive or provide dynamic user input or output, respectively, wherein the transition indicator has an appearance different from the window, and wherein the transition indicator covers only part of the second touch-sensitive display before the window is moved to cover fully the second touch-sensitive display. 25 . The method of claim 22 , wherein, when the gesture is received, the transition indicator is absent from a window stack associated with the first and second touch sensitive displays, wherein the window and transition indicator are simultaneously in active display positions on the first and second touch sensitive displays, respectively, prior to initiation of movement of the window, and wherein the transition indicator comprises a user configured color, pattern, design, and/or photograph. 26 . The method of claim 22 , wherein the transition indicator is a graphical affordance, wherein the window is controlled by a multi-screen application, and wherein the transition indicator, during movement from the first touch sensitive display to the second touch sensitive display, is non-responsive to a user command or request. 27 . A non-transient computer readable medium comprising microprocessor executable instructions operable to perform at least the following steps: receiving by a first gesture capture region of a dual screen communication device, a drag gesture, the drag gesture indicating that a window is to be moved, wherein the window is displaying active content for an application, wherein the drag gesture has a direction of movement and a rate of movement, wherein the dual screen device includes at least a first screen and a second screen, wherein the first screen includes a first gesture capture region and a first touch sensitive display wherein the first gesture capture region is physically separate from the first touch sensitive display on the first screen, wherein the second screen includes a second gesture capture region and a second touch sensitive display, wherein the second gesture capture region is physically separate from the second touch sensitive display on the second screen, and wherein the drag gesture indicates that the window is to be moved from the first touch sensitive display to the second touch sensitive display; and in response to the drag gesture: displaying the movement of a transition indicator across the second touch sensitive display substantially in accordance with the direction and rate of the movement of the drag gesture, wherein the transition indicator is a static image, and wherein the transition indicator is a same size and same shape to the window; providing a sound associated with the displaying of movement of the transition indicator; while displaying the movement of at least the portion of the transition indicator from the first touch sensitive display to the second touch sensitive display, continuing to display the active content of the window on the first touch sensitive display; and in response to completing the drag gesture and completing the display of movement for the transition indicator, animating movement of the window from the first touch sensitive display to the second touch sensitive display. 28 . The medium of claim 27 , wherein the active content is a video. 29 . The medium of claim 27 , wherein the gesture capture region is unable to display any window. 30 . The medium of claim 27 , wherein the active content changes while the transition indicator moves. 31 . The medium of claim 27 , wherein the transition indicator is unable to receive or provide dynamic user input or output, respectively, wherein the transition indicator has an appearance different from the window, and wherein the transition indicator covers only part of the second touch-sensitive display before the window is moved to cover fully the second touch-sensitive display. 32 . The medium of claim 27 , wherein, when the gesture is received, the transition indicator is absent from a window stack associated with the first and second touch sensitive displays, wherein the window and transition indicator are simultaneously in active display positions on the first and second touch sensitive displays, respectively, prior to initiation of movement of the window, and wherein the transition indicator comprises a user configured color, pattern, design, and/or photograph. 33 . The medium of claim 27 , wherein the transition indicator is a graphical affordance, wherein the window is controlled by a multi-screen application, and wherein the transition indicator, during movement from the first touch sensitive display to the second touch sensitive display, is non-responsive to a user command or request. 34 . A dual display communication device, comprising: a first screen comprising: a first touch sensitive display operable to display windows, wherein the windows are at least one of a desktop and window of an application; a first gesture capture region operable to receive a drag gesture, wherein the first gesture capture region is physically separate from the first touch sensitive display on the first screen, and wherein the first gesture capture region does not provide a display; a second screen comprising: a second touch sensitive display operable to display windows; a second gesture capture region operable to receive th
