A renal denervation system includes an ablation catheter and an inflation balloon. The renal denervation catheter is insertable into a renal artery to perform a renal denervation procedure. The inflation balloon is inflatable within the renal artery, wherein one of a blood pressure condition in the renal artery resulting from operation of the inflation balloon and a performance characteristic of the inflation balloon indicates efficacy of the renal denervation procedure.

1 - 20 . (canceled) 21 . A renal denervation system, comprising: an ablation catheter insertable into a renal artery to perform a renal denervation procedure; an inflation balloon inflatable within the renal artery, wherein one of a decay of a blood pressure condition in the renal artery resulting from operation of the inflation balloon and a performance characteristic of the inflation balloon indicates efficacy of the renal denervation procedure. 22 . The renal denervation system of claim 21 , wherein the inflated balloon blocks blood flow through the renal artery temporarily, and the decay of the blood pressure condition is assessed distal of the inflation balloon using a blood pressure sensor. 23 . The renal denervation system of claim 21 , wherein the renal denervation procedure includes ablating the renal artery, and the decay of the blood pressure condition is measured before and after ablating the renal artery to detect a change in the decay of the blood pressure condition. 24 . The renal denervation system of claim 21 , wherein the performance characteristic of the inflation balloon includes a time period required to inflate the inflation balloon. 25 . The renal denervation system of claim 24 , wherein the time period required to inflate the inflation balloon to reach a pressure threshold relates to a degree of vasodilation in the renal artery. 26 . The renal denervation system of claim 21 , wherein the renal denervation catheter and the inflation balloon are separately insertable into the renal artery. 27 . An inflation balloon configured to be inflated within a renal artery as part of a renal denervation procedure, wherein one of a decay of a blood pressure condition in the renal artery resulting from operation of the inflation balloon and a performance characteristic of the inflation balloon indicates efficacy of the renal denervation procedure. 28 . The inflation balloon of claim 27 , wherein, when inflated, the inflation balloon is configured to block blood flow through the renal artery temporarily, and the decay of the blood pressure condition is assessed distal of the inflation balloon using a blood pressure sensor. 29 . The inflation balloon of claim 27 , wherein the renal denervation procedure includes ablating the renal artery, and the decay of the blood pressure condition is measured before and after ablating the renal artery to detect a change in the decay of the blood pressure condition. 30 . The inflation balloon of claim 27 , wherein the performance characteristic of the inflation balloon includes a time period required to inflate the inflation balloon. 31 . The inflation balloon of claim 30 , wherein the time period required to inflate the inflation balloon to reach a pressure threshold relates to a degree of vasodilation in the renal artery. 32 . The inflation balloon of claim 27 , wherein the inflation balloon is configured to be insertable into the renal artery separate from a renal denervation catheter.
