A pipe restraint device is disclosed. The pipe restraint device can include a pipe coupling portion to couple with a pipe to be restrained, and a support member coupling portion to couple with a support member extending from a building structure to support the pipe. The support member coupling portion can have a support member interface and a securing mechanism. The securing mechanism can be configured to exert a force on the support member to cause the support member to bear against the support member interface sufficient to secure the support member to the support member coupling portion.

What is claimed is: 1 . A pipe restraint device, comprising: a pipe coupling portion configured to couple with a pipe to be restrained; and a support member coupling portion configured to couple with a support member extending from a building structure to support the pipe, the support member coupling portion having a support member interface and a securing mechanism, wherein the securing mechanism is configured to exert a force on the support member to cause the support member to bear against the support member interface sufficient to secure the support member to the support member coupling portion. 2 . The pipe restraint device of claim 1 , wherein the pipe coupling portion comprises a pipe interface and a strap configured to wrap around a portion of the pipe. 3 . The pipe restraint device of claim 2 , wherein exerting the force on the support member causes the strap to tighten about the pipe. 4 . The pipe restraint device of claim 2 , further comprising a pivot member rotatable relative to the pipe interface, the pivot member being coupleable to a portion of the strap and configured to support the securing mechanism, wherein the force exerted by the securing mechanism on the support member causes the pivot support to rotate and the strap to tighten about the pipe. 5 . The pipe restraint device of claim 4 , wherein the pivot member is coupleable to the portion of the strap via an extension member. 6 . The pipe restraint device of claim 5 , wherein the extension member comprises an opening to receive the support member and provide clearance for the support member as the pivot member rotates. 7 . The pipe restraint device of claim 4 , wherein the support member interface is associated with the pipe interface. 8 . The pipe restraint device of claim 2 , wherein the pipe interface comprises a V-shaped configuration. 9 . The pipe restraint device of claim 2 , wherein the strap is coupleable about the pipe interface via a protrusion extending through an opening. 10 . The pipe restraint device of claim 2 , wherein the pipe coupling portion is configured to accommodate a plurality of pipe diameters. 11 . The pipe restraint device of claim 1 , wherein the support member coupling portion is positionable along a longitudinal axis of the support member. 12 . The pipe restraint device of claim 1 , wherein the support member comprises a rod, a threaded rod, a pipe, a shaft, a beam, a strut, a bar, a conduit, a dowel, or combinations thereof. 13 . The pipe restraint device of claim 1 , wherein the securing mechanism is associated with the pipe interface. 14 . The pipe restraint device of claim 1 , wherein the securing mechanism comprises a threaded fastener. 15 . The pipe restraint device of claim 1 , wherein the pipe coupling portion comprises: a first extension and a second extension spaced from one another by a distance that is greater than or substantially equal to a diameter of the pipe, each of the first and second extensions having a recess on one side sized to receive about one-half of a cross-section of the pipe, the recesses of each extension having a common center line and the extensions being configured such that the recesses form a substantially full pipe opening when viewed aligned with the common center line, wherein the pipe coupling portion is configured to be positioned relative to the pipe with the pipe extending between the first and second extensions and generally perpendicular to the center line such that rotating at least one of the pipe coupling portion and the pipe about 90° with respect to one another captures the pipe in the full pipe opening with the center line substantially aligned with a longitudinal axis of the pipe. 16 . The pipe restraint device of claim 15 , wherein the recesses have a generally semicircular shape. 17 . The pipe restraint device of claim 15 , wherein at least one of the recesses has an angular dimension of greater than 180 degrees. 18 . The pipe restraint device of claim 15 , wherein the pipe opening is circular. 19 . The pipe restraint device of claim 15 , wherein a diameter of the pipe opening is substantially equal to the diameter of the pipe.
