A method of making stamper plates for an embossing drum for embossing tape media is provided. The method includes forming one or more first stamper plates using a master template, and forming a second stamper plate from one of the one or more first stamper plates such that the second stamper plate and the one first stamper plate have inverse land and groove patterns. Furthermore, the second stamper plate and the one first stamper plate or another of the one or more first stamper plates are useable on the drum to emboss tape media.

What is claimed is: 1 . A method of making stamper plates for an embossing drum for embossing tape media, the method comprising: forming one or more first stamper plates using a master template; and forming a second stamper plate from one of the one or more first stamper plates such that the second stamper plate and the one first stamper plate have inverse land and groove patterns; wherein the second stamper plate and the one first stamper plate or another of the one or more first stamper plates are useable on the drum to emboss tape media. 2 . The method of claim 1 wherein forming the one or more first stamper plates comprises forming one or more intermediate replicas from the master template, and then forming the one or more first stamper plates from at least one of the one or more intermediate replicas. 3 . The method of claim 1 wherein the stamper plates are formed with wobble patterns, and the wobble pattern of each first stamper plate is vertically mirrored with respect to the wobble pattern of the second stamper plate. 4 . The method of claim 1 wherein forming one or more first stamper plates comprises forming at least two first stamper plates, and the method further comprises forming an additional second stamper plate from one of the at least two first stamper plates such that the additional second stamper plate has the same configuration as the second stamper plate, and wherein the additional second stamper plate is useable on the drum to emboss tape media along with the second stamper plate and two of the at least two first stamper plates. 5 . The method of claim 4 wherein forming the at least two first stamper plates comprises forming at least two intermediate replicas from the master template, and then forming each first stamper plate from one of the intermediate replicas. 6 . The method of claim 4 wherein forming the at least two first stamper plates comprises forming an intermediate replica from the master template, and then forming each first stamper plate from the intermediate replica. 7 . The method of claim 4 wherein the stamper plates are formed with wobble patterns, and the wobble pattern of each first stamper plate is vertically mirrored with respect to the wobble pattern of each second stamper plate. 8 . A method of making an embosser drum that is useable to emboss tape media, the method comprising: assembling together multiple stamper plates that each have embossing features for embossing tape media, the stamper plates including at least one first plate and at least one second plate, wherein the embossing features of each first plate are inverted with respect to the embossing features of each second plate. 9 . The method of claim 8 wherein the stamper plates include two of the first plates and two of the second plates. 10 . The method of claim 9 wherein the assembling is performed such that the first plates are positioned adjacent to each other and the second plates are positioned adjacent to each other. 11 . The method of claim 9 wherein each first plate is made using a single master template. 12 . The method of claim 11 wherein each first plate is made from one or more intermediate replicas made from the master template. 13 . The method of claim 11 wherein the second plates are made from at least one of the first plates. 14 . The method of claim 9 wherein the embossing features of each plate include an identifier at each end of each plate, and wherein the identifiers of adjacent ends of adjacent plates are usable to identify each plate. 15 . An embossing drum for embossing tape media, the embossing drum comprising: a first stamper plate for embossing the tape media; and a second stamper plate positioned proximate the first stamper plate for embossing the tape media, wherein the stamper plates have inverse land and groove patterns. 16 . The embossing drum of claim 15 wherein the land and groove patterns comprise wobble patterns, and the wobble pattern of the first stamper plate is vertically mirrored with respect to the wobble pattern of the second stamper plate. 17 . The embossing drum of claim 15 further comprising an additional first stamper plate having the same configuration as the first stamper plate, and an additional second stamper plate having the same configuration as the second stamper plate, wherein the stamper plates are attached together. 18 . The embossing drum of claim 17 wherein the first plates are positioned adjacent to each other, and the second plates are positioned adjacent to each other. 19 . The embossing drum of claim 17 wherein the land and groove patterns comprise wobble patterns, and the wobble pattern of each first stamper plate is vertically mirrored with respect to the wobble pattern of each second stamper plate. 20 . The embossing drum of claim 17 wherein the land and groove patterns define embossing features, and the embossing features of each plate include an identifier at each end of each plate, and wherein the identifiers of adjacent ends of adjacent plates are usable to identify each plate.
